The silver thread gave a dim glow in the moonlight.
Over her heart, the unicorn's likeness.

His eyes are no more
Prized emeralds stolen from me

Her weathered tent put away.
Her cloak blanketed by dawn's fading mist.

His breath on my neck, soft in my ear
and sweet in my face, cider-sweet

Her fingers wove the morning braid.
A ribbon of winter white within.

No more nights with his mouth against mine
Oh how I miss those kisses

Lathander's smile pouring through canopies of green.
The birds sing their daily aria.

My tongue, spiced with wine
Dancing with his

Her stride through the forest.
Long, swift and quiet.

His breath is no more
His last, a zephyr in these woods

Resting on a couch of root and moss.
Wide eyes search the copse.

I bind unto myself today
Mielikki's might, Mielikki's blade

Her fingers wove the afternoon braid.
A thread of autumn red within.

What's this my Queen,
A foraging bear?

Bears have no beaks,
Nor eyes of cunning bloodlust.

Unwelcome monster
Wanton slayer of fawn friends

Bowstring sings and arrows bite deep
The cruel beast gallops fast.

Oh for just one last sup and dessert
To be served once more at Corgrym's table

The silver thread is dark in the moonlight.
Over her heart, the unicorn's likeness.

Lovely and moving. Bravo. I only know the tale second hand, but now, it has poignancy it hertofore had been denied.

Karin is a perfect exaple of a ranger of Mielikki.

Vaelahr, I don't know when I've seen one played better. Karin's quite up there with the greats and a shining member of the Fellowship of the Silver Unicorn. Her story moved me to tears.

Thank you,

I would recommend these writings in this order:

In Search of A Legacy - The Tale of Richard Falrin
Karin's love. A somewhat fickle romance often found in youth.

The Growing Season* (or “Corgrym’s prayer”)

Karin of Hadreth's Glen
Karin's thoughts while on a patrol; a blend of mourning, memories of carnal pleasure, a prayer, and a last wish. The italicised narrative, something I gleaned from Misty's writing.

The Fallen One
I've read the log from this session. Inwintersshadow with some powerful emotes, concluding with *he chokes back a groan and his heart becomes iron, closing like a tomb*. Good stuff.
