The Hand of Curna
The Hand of Curna
I'm posting this for the players of the hand to post our exploits be it narritive or from their characters perspective. We can share adventures and flesh out pcs at the same time I figured, I hope others find the time to post themselves.

The Road to the Dale hadn't been as bad as could be, a tainted golden dragon, but that wasn't our affair. This was the first real fight we'd had on it, with out someone else there to shepard us. The church couldn't loose its little investment already, at least thats what Nathan thought. Why hadn't Samuel just held our hand, probably because he knew just how long a journey it was.
Nathanael didn't look for fights, or even for excuses to go looking. But the forms only held so much when you practiced them alone, you had to find a partner to dance with eventually. Then you knew what you had to work on. Lucky for him these goblins were so close to the road, and didn't seem to want to leave it. This would give him enough for tenday at least. Maybe I could convince the others to stay out, then I'd be good for near a season probably.
Ryann had a plan though, and it was a good one, even if she had drawn their attention. It would still work the same. Whatever Norbert had done was hard to see, the grass just looked darker in a big circle between us and the goblins.
Her arrow took one in the back, the little green bastard didn't seem fazed by it though, he shouted something in his foul tounge and turned around. He charged us straight away, but to my suprise so did four of his cohorts.
Only one of them began noching an arrow. It was a race between him and Ryann to see who would shoot first, but I had to concentrate on the four foul things making a bee line for us. Thats when they came on the patch Norbert made, all that from a little peice of pork fat, damn mages.
By some sort of dumb luck the goblin with an arrow already in his back stayed on his feet, he slid forward on his heels arms flailing wildly. The other four went down hard, and on que Arlom jumped out of the bushes wiggling his fingers and muttering. Norbert was just beside him firing his crossbow. Should stick to his bloody magics Seconds only had ticked by, as the goblin slid forward I stepped in front of Ryann, An easy kill it seemed but things were about to go badly. Ryann beat the goblin to the draw, her arrow missed though, thunking into the tree behind him. His Return shot went between us, I could hear the air screaming as it sliced through it. And the goblin who had somehow stayed on his feet decided it was time to leave them. He fell more than ducked under my strike, and slide on past me into Ryann as she was reaching for another arrow. His little hunk of steel that I would never name a sword bit into her thigh as he barreled into her legs. Somehow she stayed her feet dancing away from the little beast. As it rose a bolt took it in chest, but I cleaved his head in two just to make sure. Things were happing fast now, the goblins shouted at each other, and you could hear arrows not only slicing through air, but the thunk of them hitting. Louder ones when they missed and hit trees, but also the softer sound of them finding flesh. Now was the time of acting without thought, a mere glance the only survey of the field you would be allowed. Another goblin made his way toward me and I went to meet him. He offered his shield forward as he came, so I took it, along with his hand and most of his arm. He was still fighting though, I played into him and I payed for it. His blade slid up under the scales of my armour and into my side, the creature was to weak for the strike to really matter though, I'd got worse with wooden swords. I circled around him and moved back he followed stabbing and shouting wildly. I should have moved on, but I watched to make sure. As close as Ryann was her arrow nearly came all the way through the bastards head. I'd have to say something, else one of her arrows will end up in me. As I turned and moved toward the the other goblins only one stood. One lay on the ground filled with cross bow bolts, the other looked fine, and you don't leave an enemy behind you. Heron in the Rushes took it through the heart, and with a flick of the wrist left under its armpit. The other goblin came at me as I did this, but I knew I'd be done before he made it, if he even did. Bolts and arrows hailed down as him as he came, some missing some finding their mark. He was faster than I thought though, and I barely had my blade up when he made it, he struck quickly at me but his technique was sloppy. I danced away puting him between myself and the others. I looked for an opening, and made him keep moving forward, he was dead and just didn't know it. Thats when the others let loose on him, the snap of crossbow strings gave little warning as bolts flew at myself and the goblin. One made my hair stand on end, the other hitting a tree maybe two hands away. The goblin was dead though, an arrow through his chest. Will have to talk to those fools as well, you'd think they'd learn after hitting me half the time with thier cursed spells. Helm should have convinced Ayo to leave Mistra as she lie....and let magic go with her.......Bad as thayans........almost.

Bear with me. this is my first try at writing in english.
Arlom's arrival in Waterdeep
-- --------------------------------------
Wrapped under his cloak the man walked along the road toward the city.
Even though the road had been long and hard, even though he had reached his destination,
his journey still laid ahead of him. Quietly he made his way to the gates,
dressed in common clothes he would easily pass for a farmer, or maybe some courrier.
The walls of the city laid straight before him. Stretching from one side of the horizon to the other.
Behind them the city spread until she was forced by the sea to give way.
Like many before him he made his way into the jewel of the Sword Coast, Waterdeep
As he came upone the gates he closed in on one of the guards. His face under his hood,
his eyes darting left and right. Arlom was the name he gave to the guard.
He said that he came from the east looking for opportunities of fame and fortune.
He asked them if they had heard of any work. The guard let out a small smile then he told
him to go to the adventurer's quarter, that he might find something there.
So the stranger entered the city, making his way through the houses and the shops.
Sometimes he stopped, standing amazed at what he saw. Arlom was dressed like most,
looked like most, but in the way he walked through the crowds bumping in people, in the way his
eyes looked at everything, like they were swallowing the scenery, you could tell he wasn't
from the city, that this might even be one of the first cities he laid his feets in.
While his eyes were trying to take all of the immensity of the city in, he shoved a priest to the
ground, falling over him. He apologized quickly after getting up. While grtting up, the man dressed
in monk garb examined Arlom. His hood had fell back, reavealing a somewhat panicked young face.
He couldn't be old tought the priest. Probably around twenty. His black hair was somewhat short
yet some fell over his face, making him appear younger. His eyes showed determination as well as
wisdom and intelligence. With a second look the priest knew what stood out of the stranger that had
bumped into him. He looked like someone who had traveled the roads in the recent months.
His clothes weren't as clean as those of most of the passerby. They might have needed some
mending in some places. The priest knew he had found his man. After standing up, he grabbed the
traveler by the shoulder while saying.
"Are you looking for work, young adventurer?"
Surprised, Arlom nodded.
"I might have something for you. It's pretty simple actually. And not really more dangerous than walking
those streets at night" He added with a laugh.
Arlom nodded again, this time a bit more slowly.
"Well follow me then" He said in response, before he began walking along the road.
The traveler followed the priest until they reached an inn called the Safehaven and they went in and took
seats near the fireplace. The man explained briefly the task he was offering. He was to wait for
some travelers, a man and a woman and a gnome in front of the inn. He was to leads them away
from the streets, where they would be alone. There he would have to read a scroll, and it would
transport them to a cave. In that cave they were to recover a wand. The priest added that depending
on the results, more work might be given. After some toughts Arlom agreed. He picked the scroll and left the inn.
A few moments later, Arlom was deep in his toughts, waiting in front of the inn. Waiting for three strangers.
Waiting for three persons he didn't know anything about. Waiting for those that would change his destiny.
