I arrived safely in the heartlands again. I decided to start my plans. I went to the temple Cry of Dawn and left a message for the High Priestess of Lliira. I hope to ally with her and server her some. Pay off this debt I have to a certain priestess who returned me to life. I have realized I miss my wife already. I have been so long in the isles beside her day by day. I umm, I guess this is what falling in love is like. You start to become apart of each other. I can only imaging an elder elven couple.. I understand now what they mean of revery.. It is almost like telepathy. Such closeness after so long a life time.. I do want to polymorph into an elf one day. I want to be old and beside her.. Not abandon her with my short life... Maybe there is a magic fountain somewhere that would reverse my age... I should also get to the Gate. I owe the muse some coin and she has been patient with me.
Well I out did myself this time... I went out scouting to find my enemies camp and sure enough I did. I found two groups of orcs fighting each other. I watched while hidden as they quickly killed themselves. I moved away and cast a few spells, then heard more fighting. I returned and all the orc bodies had been stripped clean. I didn't think anything of it. I found some tracks and followed them right to a cyric camp. One of them heard me and before anything happened, bolts started flying.
Guess who runs forward attacking my hated foes? The Chosen of Bane Webber! He only had a priest, wizard and two guards.. The Arrogance! A leader of a nation... Exposing himself like that. He obviously has never faced a foe that could track him and attack him when alone. It would have been fun to see a group teleport to him and fight! Its speak a lot of his character. He is the typical tyrant, he invests his power in himself, not his allies. That is a weakness I will exploit. I did have half a mind to stand up and introduce myself. It is rumored Banite at least have honor. Face my foe directly. The Muse was right, I am a romantic. Glad I listened to better judgement. Oh and I saw this Chosen use his power, he reached over and touch one of the foes he killed. It's flesh fell off and it stood up. He did this without casting a spell... He is a black guard I am sure of it.
I tired to retrack his steps to his base camp. I got close but I ran into a scouting party. They had at least two trackers and they were good. Not that I am the best scout but I wasn't making any mistake and they knew I was around. I cast expeditious retreat and fled to Dragonspear Castle. There I rested a bit and found my deep gnome friend. He had recently gotten his axe enchanted and was itching to use it. I showed him how to patrol the moors and we went into the mines. There another surprised awaited me. First there were lots of undead there. I assume refugees from the war, they escaped a master and fled under ground. One of the ghouls paralyzed me, I recovered but that could have been a problem. My gnome friend was terrified of them. Seams he has a fear of undead as I fear high places. We all have our problems...
I decided to show him the illusion I found deeper. He wanted to search the place, I never did as I always was alone. We found more illusions and they spoke of Nethril! My ancient bloodline. I was so happy. I was thinking to make Dragonspear my base but this would be a perfect hiding place. Maybe there is some old power still my blood could awake! That is of course foolish. It is good be be young.
I will go to the Citadel and report my recent activity and meet with the Battle Priest of Tempus to start arranging my staging ground. I should also find my allies and perhaps start helping them the best I can. I wish to be a leader and watching the best is a good place.
Oh I did discover that the portal, well what I thought was a portal in Firewine is a Hideway. Pocket dimension really. The elf I offended so, told me about it. I will report this to my Master Gaeldrim. As he wanted me to find out. I think I read about Hideaways in one of the Volo's guides... I am surprised anything that man wrote was right.

I found another body today. I was walking in the docks of the Gate and there it was. I looked around and saw a few people gathered but no one doing anything...
I inspected him and it looks like a local thug killed him for his purse. This reaffirms what several people have said about this place. These same docks I learned to blend arcane and divine magics. He had a crossbow but no melee weapon. I took them to the Temple of Tempus's donation box. Then took him to the Temple of Gond. May he be laid to rest.
I spend a bit of time down in Naskell. Found a rather skilled ranger and he helped me and a group of folks kill that frost giant blocking off the trade route south. I fireballed him a few times and summoned a dire wolf. The giant closed rather quickly and would have had a rather large chuck of my hide if I had not had a few mirror images up. Giant fighting...
I have been stockpiling weapons for the war effort. I am awaiting word back from the various letters I have sent out. I was very surprised by Croster. Good to be not disappointed for a change.
