Fifteenth Entry,
Weather: Beautiful, warm, sunny and perfect.
Location: Paradise
I sailed into paradise yesterday. I will not yield any details, not even to the log, other than to say it was amazing and beautiful.
Killing is fun, no doubt. What happened yesterday? Best experience ever. It may not last, but it was worth the trip.

16th Entry
Location: Baldur’s Gate
Weather: Sunny and calm, but dark clouds on horizon
Hazards of Note: Silverymoon - Encountered a very large, dark-haired northerner in the Oak who ate like a pig and pissed on the tree. I insulted him, naturally, and he tried to retort. Eventually he left, but in retrospect, it was not a good idea to antagonize him - he was pretty big and I would have needed Rain's help to get out of that fight alive.
Baldur's Gate - Met some Elf noble knight looking person coming when we came in from delivering mail. Us delivering mail kinds of makes sense - we're poor, homeless, and basically doing whatever jobs we can to get buy. This elf though, looked pretty rich to me. I asked him how old he was, and he said among elves, asking another elf their age was a killing offense. I told him that was stupid.
Work getting slow in Silver Marches. Heard of work needed in Settlestone, but rumor was false. Ali had us head down river to the sea, and then down the coast to Baldur’s Gate. We did not bother stopping in Waterdeep – too much competition I guess. Redara went ahead with a caravan to Soubar to scout the work and Sayid is coming in his own sweet time. So, that left Nisha, Rain, Ali and I to travel together. And the half-elf woman, Kori.
Nisha said she is worried about me when she leaves me. What a weird thing to say. I don’t get that girl. I think I love her, but I don’t get her. Maybe that’s why I like her so much? If she cared about me so much, why leave? I am not saying she is lying – I believe she is worried about me when she leaves, and I believe she will leave. Its just weird – I don’t understand her. I told her not to worry; I knew who she was and what she would do and I got into this with my eyes open. It will hurt, but Nisha leaving isn’t what is going to kill me – that will be either some dumb beast of a humanoid in a cave somewhere, or some knight or wizard I piss off with my sharp-tongue. Or maybe it will just be a dagger in the dark from Kori. I don’t know. I know I am not putting any bets on me seeing the other side of 30. I told that to Nisha and she changed the subject. She seemed really uncomfortable. I hope its because she has feelings for me, not because she is planning on cutting my throat, but whatever. We all have to die eventually – and I would much rather die in Nisha’s bed on her knife than on the floor of some cold, dark cave under the axe of some stinking gnoll. I doubt that was what Nisha was thinking though – I just can’t say. As much as I know love, I love her, but I can’t pretend to really understand her.
Of course, I’ve done some things lately that I don’t understand either. Nisha is not the only one posing contradictions that are hard to explain. I can’t explain some of the things I’ve done lately either, and what little I can explain I won’t – not here.
When we got to Baldur’s Gate, Kori invited us to her apartment. I had a kind of scary déjà-vu moment at her door – it reminded me of a nightmare I had the night I lay with Nisha. I don’t believe I have any premonition power, so I think its just coincidence, but it really did shake me up a bit. Kori is one-half talented singer and bard, one-half dark mystery woman, and one-half totally crazy. Yeah, I know that’s three-halves, but I was never good at math. She has her own prostitute living in her apartment. The landlord provides them for her. Its clear she uses people, but then, who doesn’t? She’s just better and more open about it than most.
She told us she might need swords who can be discreet. I actually had to laugh – I can sneak about as quietly as a mouse, but when it comes to my big mouth? Keeping me quiet takes a divine miracle – Nisha is one of the few who can shut me up with a word. Even Nisha chuckled at this little quandary. Still, we assured Kori that we were interested in work and that we would remain discreet. She made a little threat, which was a bit disappointing, but, on the other hand, its to be expected. I hate threats though. I am with Rain on the subject of threats – kill, or don’t kill. But don’t threaten. It just gives the other person the opportunity to prepare.
Discretion. Not one of my stronger traits, but I am getting better at it. Hells, not one person among my entire crew knows my real name. How is that for discretion?
Now, if only I could shut up when these northern monkeys start doing something foolish, I might actually live long enough to get dumped by Nisha. Or not. Time will tell.

Re: Captain's log of the Aliyah (mature content)
A Treatise on the Feminine Hazards of Baldur’s Gate.
In our time sailing the streets of Baldur’s Gate I have discovered that this city is particularly gifted with beautiful and talented women. This then is my recounting of the women of Baldur’s Gate who have proven hazardous to my daily navigation. Like all navigational hazards, each is unique in her description and threat, and each must be dealt with in a different fashion. Sadly, while I can chronicle the hazards, I have not the skills as a pilot to relate the solutions – those choosing to navigate these hazards for themselves will have to plot their own courses and survive their own journeys. Careful readers of my log may notice that Nisha does not appear below; Nisha is not a denizen of Baldur’s Gate, she is part of the crew, and as such does not belong on this list despite the hazards she poses. That said, any reader of this can go f*ck themselves because if you’re reading this, then I am probably dead. Alright, on to the hazards.
Tha’is
Location: Where ever she can dance, from Greengrass to the Blade & Stars
Description: Dusky and sensuous, Tha’is is a Turmish beauty from Luskan. Her grace is beyond compare in my experience. I have never seen anyone dance the way she does; not even she-who-shall-not-be-named (though she-who-shall-not-be-named could and would sacrifice Tha’is to the dark in a heart-beat). Tha’is dance’s could bring Sultan’s to their knees.
Navigation: Tha’is appears personally modest in conversation despite being anything but modest in dance. When I asked if she liked girls, I thought she was going to feint in shock. This one is for the boys I am afraid. Alas. I did get to dance with her once though. That was pretty special.
Kyrinil
Location: Find Horatio, and she will not be far away.
Description: Dark tan skin, silver-white hair, and deep brown eyes – this elf is to physical beauty what Tha’is is to dance. A tiny, perfect doll of an elf. Too beautiful to believe. Thought at first it was a glamour like in the old elf stories. Still think it might be. She can sing too, but it is her physical beauty that really stuns.
Navigation: Mercurial, as befits the sea. Her kiss was sweet and tender, her words full of concern and care, but when rejected, even for a moment, a storm of words followed. Little experience with men, almost none with women. Recently left a relatiohship with some druid from the Moonshaes, or so I am told.
Deva
Location: Exactly where she wants to be.
Description: A short girl with tan skin and white hair, Deva is both beautiful and flat out striking. She moves like a dancer, and acts with the confidence of a warrior.
Navigation: Not a romantic interest and I can’t tell you why – instead, I name her my sister by choice. Deva says she comes from Waterdeep’s wharfs, and we seem to share a sense of humor and sense of place, along with a deep dislike for the nobility. Also, she once saved me from the certain humiliation of dancing at the Blade & Stars. Of course, if she is truly like me, than half of what comes out of her mouth are lies, so who knows where we really stand? Still I choose to think of her as my sister.
Kori
Location: Beyond the dark door.
Description: A beautiful half-elf with short, dark hair, mischievous eyes and a heart as black as night.
Navigation: I recommend most steer clear. There is no love left in Kori, and she does not lament its loss – only that she was once weak enough to feel it, if only temporarily. She uses whores like a man, but with no shame or guilt. On the other hand, if you want dance with the darkness, she is your partner in Baldur’s Gate. I have known darker in my youth, but she is of that species. Care must be taken; I suspect at least one lover and maybe more have lost their lives as they were dashed upon Kori’s stone heart. I will not name her soul-less as I did Sayid – Kori loved once. But her soul has gone dark now. On the other hand, like Nisha, she is quite skilled at pleasuring women. After all, the dark is good for wicked things, and wicked things are often the most fun.

Re: Aliyah's Log Book (mature content)
Once upon a time I used to draw, and I used to spend a lot of my time drawing the characters my friends and I played in our role-playing games. However, for reasons I will not get into, I have not drawn anything in over 20 years. I also don't know how gonz0 does his screenshot-to-sketch business using Picassa (I think thats the software name). So, while Aliyah sketches in her log book, here is the closest thing I could find to Ali'Hussein, Aliyah and Rain on-line (well, OK, the closest in spirit - not in actual resemblence ...
)

OK, yes I know Gerry Lopez (Subotai) is not a hin, and Aliyah is not blond, and Rain wears much more armor than Conan, but hey, its the best I could do.
Actually, I was rather inspired by a DM'd event last night and after we logged off, had to watch Conan. I decided that Conan, Valeria and Subotai reminded me of Rain, Aliyah and Ali'Hussein - except that I think Conan, Valeria and Subotai actually liked each other, while Rain and Aliyah ... not so much.
But ... if NWN2 allowed us to have black-n-white body paint, I would SO do it!!! Its not all that useful as camouflage, but damn does it look bad-a$$.

Re: Aliyah's Log Book (mature content)
OOC note about the log in-character: Aliyah's log was destroyed during her flight from Silverymoon. She jumped into the river to escape the Knights and the guards and did not have time to do anything about her log book. She spent a long time in the river, and when she got out, she could not take the time to do anything about her soaked log-book. She has since burned what remains of it, so if you are snooping through her things or looting her body (hopefully that will not come to pass) don't expect to find the log-book sadly.
