Action Report: Third day of First Ride, Nightal 1379
Barakor, below is summary finding on the request of Felbarr on the issue of Settlestone. I, Hazerin, have been aided by many non-kin to arrive at the settlement itself. Below is summary finding, first and foremost knowledge learned while in the lowlands, and secondly the primary need of evalution of the extent of the damage done in the recent war with the orckin.
Much information is by word of mouth, a Callas Merry as well as a kin from Felbarr, one Dili of the Clan Snowcairn. It appears during the recent war, another of King Obould's sons was put to the sword, and was likely the instigator of the orcs. He has been named Bymorel, and it has been said that a human warpriest, Olin Redtalon, succeeded in delivering his death blow. I would advize those of the Xothor to invite this man to the Citadell, so that his tale can be scribed into the dwarven annuls.
It also appears that there seems to be some grave robbing happening in the lowlands. I am unsure at this time weather the tombs are dwarven or not, but hope to recieve this information. If not, no further action is advized in this affair.
Word from Dili speaks of a Half Orc leading giants in this particular region. Also a cave, near the outpost Fourthpeek, is said to be inhabited by giants, and under light guard by the troops of Mithril Hall. The orkin, as well as the giants, could pose a threat to the security of Settlestone at this juncture. Advize sending additional troops to complement those of Mithril Hall to contain the threat.
Vampires reported in the lowland. No threat as of now to dwarven holds. I have agreed to help rid the lowlands of one such being, that seems to use Necromancy. I will add onto report after.
Settlestone- Condition- guarded, as of now by those of Mithril Hall. It would appear that most of what could be put to the torch has been. Much of the stone stands, but there are heavy breeches in the outer curtain, and lighter breeches in the inner curtain walls. The towers guarding the entrance have been gutted, no gates at this period. There is much debris being burned of that which cannot be reused. I will proceed with gathering information of the attack, and the weaknesses exploited, before making recomendations.
An interesting side note: A spectre appears at night roaming the walls, appears to be a human with the emblem of the Human god Helm upon his shield. The apperition is not hostile, and spends it's time looking out beyond the walls. More information needed on subject.

Re: The Defence of Delzoun
A small sputtering candle rests atop the table under the tent, whilst nearby adequate light flares into the darkness from a large brazier. Malraven stands not that far away, as she and the Axe of the Barakor known as Hazerin speak quietly into the night. As Malraven takes her leave for rest, Hazerin takes to his pen, writing diligently upon sheaves of parchment.
Action Report: Eigth Day of Second Ride, Nightal 1379
Established contact with two kin at the Anglers Inn of High Hold, one Golinar Goldforge, a gold kin of the area of Sundabar, and one Kelnar Hammerstriker of Felbarr. We three proceeded with firm host of human, hin and elf past the Human Hamlet of Rivermoot, once again braving the trails of the Fourthpeek. Our intent was two-fold: Kelnar wished to look in on Settlestone (this was not achieved during our foray) and as well to check on the tombs recently uncovered and exploited by human robbers from the lowlands. Identifying threat within the Fourthpeek area, namely a group of giants and kobolds holding a bridge, the group, minus Hammerstriker whom was checking in on the Fourthpeek detail, routed and slew a band of no less than three trolls, seven ogres, three kobolds as well as a larger giant unidentified. Action should include the bravery of Golinar, whom stood with myself to face an onslaught of two rushing trolls whom charged over the bridge, as well as his charging with myself to help the Human Horatio overtake the final large giant. Golinar did not flinch nor waver at his duty, and indeed held to the highest traditions of kin.
The trip proved useful, as the non-kin showed myself and Golinar the entrance to these tombs. We did not enter at the time, fearing we were under-equipped. Plans have been made for another foray into the actual tombs, so that those buried there can be identified by race. As stated previously, if the tombs are not dwarven, no further action is suggested.
I have also met the famed warrior Olin of the Redtalons, and have confirmed his killing of the Obould Spawn Bymorel. Though he did not commit the act alone, as there was another whom also fought Bymorel, I have probed into his willingness to portray the events if so required to the Xothor. He is agreeable to the idea.
Side note: The helm given to me was lost during the battle of the giants, as the kobolds laid trap and dislodged boulders from above, one striking my helm and rendering it not battle worthy. It is fortunate...if not for the fine craftsmanship of the helm, I should surely no longer breath. As well, a charm was given to me after the battle by the nonkin, an item found among the giants. It appears of magic, and made of old bones. I will show this upon arrival, for the decision of the Barakor.

As the cold winds blow down from the austere Spine of the World, Hazerin sits with heavy furs in his lap penning upon parchment by candlelight. Near him, settled upon chairs, are Merry and Thobbledorf, two souls for whom the darkness of the night work favors for. Both are keen of eye and light of step. They moot well into the night, as Hazerin occasionally pens something on the parchment in front of him.
Action Report: Fifth day of Third Ride, Nightal 1379
Before presenting recent victory, your servant Hazerin feels it necessarry to document the doings of one Sevrok, now known as the Half-orc Baneite whom has dug into the hills around Fourthpeek as a tick would to a Rothe. It is reported he has gathered a number of orc, and giant, as well as giantkin, to his banner. His objective is as of yet unknown, though it is speculated he seeks something within the hills. It should be known that he has based his forces within a cave. This appears to be the same cave once guarded by Mithril Hall guards, as presented in earlier reports. It also appears this Sevrok gathers forces to him daily. Possible avenues other than frontal assault would be smoking, or starving the wretches from their hole, and taking them as they come out from hiding. It is unclear at this time weather they occupy this cavern merely for some benefit of being out of the weather, or if they actually dig within the cave itself. What is known, three legion members are dead due to his clan, one being a dwarf. The potential threat of this band is high in the case of Settlestone, as work progresses there. There is a possibility that this Half orc is attempting to dig a route to the Low Road, and by doing so come up under Settlestone as the previous successful attack did. Note that he has the means to will himself away from any attack, as has been previously demonstrated, so direct confrontation with the Half-blood himself is likely to produce little to no true effect, beyond the culling of those he has gathered to his side.
One Thobbledorf Hammerhand, Kelnar Hammerstriker and Myself found and cleared a potential threat to the lowland Rivermoot. The action taken on the Second day of this ride was in order to prevent further flanking maneuvers from any hostiles within the lower passes when the issuance of the expedition into the tombs is initiated. The Action left at least two score orcs dead, as well as two ogres within a mining complex in the hills above Rivermoot. In recompense for items recovered within the complex, Hammerhand gave over a ring, which I now wear and will present before the Barakor upon return. Note that the two held themselves to the highest traditions of kin in the fight itself, and should be commended for such.
Action taken on the Fourth Day of this ride with the Callas Merry include four orc dead, as well as a bugbear and three bone walkers. THe Callas Merry has been instrumental in providing information to myself as well as the Legion of the Lowlands, as well as being available to help in any form needed. Dependable.

Excellent, thanks for this!
Re: The Defence of Delzoun
The cold wind blows heavily, howling through the craggy rocks at the base of the Spine of the World. The bustle of the encampment can be seen, as the few legion soldiers within the post known as Fourthpeak go about their assigned tasks. Upon the curtain wall, a few guards stand watch in the night, among them Olin Redtalon, Hafren Jye, Arizma and Penrose. Near at hand, Kelnar Hammerstriker stirs at a pot of beans and roast boar, as Hazerin sits by candlelight, penning.
Action Report: Third day of the First ride, Hammer 1380
Upon prompting from the local Legion Seargent, one Wilson, of Rivermoot, your servant Hazerin along with Kelnar Hammerstriker of Felbarr and others scanned the hills above the town in search of a missing Legionman, assumed dead by a local clan of orckin, led by a Shaman. Upon finding the cave of this clan, battle was initiated, in which it is estimated 2 1/2 score of orcs were dealt their deathblows, within as well as outside of the entrance to this cave. The missing Legionairre was found and brought back to Rivermoot, along with the head of the shaman. Note that Hammerstriker served most valiantly in the recovery of the dead, putting his well-being before others, and holding multiple chokepoints during the raid upon the cave.
In a seperate issuance, Golinar Goldforge and myself did enter again the ruins of the temple near Rivermoot, discovering three deceased brought to life to walk once more. These three were dispatched, though the third not without major effort. It should be noted that Golinar performed admireably when faced with the dead. It is my own assumption that one of the three was a great warrior in life, as it took many blows to lay him low. Note that the statue previously dropped upon the entrance to the lower part of the temple remains undisturbed.
In a seperate issuance, the Callas Merry did help in clearing a cave near Rivermoot of a dreaded bugbear and dead, as well as orcs near the ridge of the ruined temple.
I now await a large action to take place against a tribe of orcs, humans and giantkin in the area about Fourthpeak. Though I do not plan to take direct action myself, I intend to stay until such action has been seen to by others. Until such time as the dreaded orc Banite and his clan can be delt with, I will content myself in further fortifying the Legion outpost known as Fourthpeak. Though not dwarven in nature, the fact that this outpost lay between Settlestone and Mithril Hall is enough cause to warrent tending in my own mind. I have rigged both supply platforms to be lowered over the side of the walls, as well as nets to be used in the gathering of stone for the catapults located within the fort. As well, I have begun work on a series of trenchworks, as others help carve the longspikes that will decorate the trenches upon completion. I have designed the entrenchments in order to hampen the movement of the larger giantkin, so that the archers above will have more time to fire down upon them. Note that any human and or orcs attacking the post will not be affected by such trenchworks, as I have left room for the smaller races to gain access to the Fort. It is my recommendation that after the threat in the area is removed, that both door and portcullis be added to the entrance of Fourthpeak. I intend to fund these works when I can.
As sidenote, upon the digging of the fortifications, I have come across one of our own under the ground. By the deteriorated armour upon the bones, I would say the kin died twenty or thirty years prior to the finding. Cause of death appears to be a hammer to the skull. Note that the Hammerhead that killed the kin was also recovered from the ground, lacking any sign of age. The human Arizma has indicated the lack of rust and corrosion is a definate sign of magics upon the weapon. As well, the sigil for "Brother" has been found on the side of the hammerhead. Note that it is of yet unkown weather the dead be a Shieldbrother, or Duergar. I have recovered the bones, as well as the armour, and placed them within the fort itself, while delivering the skull to Settlestone, in order to prevent the bones from rising and walking, something that appears common in this area. I have also requested both Xothor and Talhund from Mithril Hall in hopes to both identify the remains as well as the weapon. If it is a Shieldbrother, I intend to have the remains interred within Mithril Hall.
As sidenote, due to my recent occupation with the fortifications, Kelnar Hammerstriker has given over a shield of the All Father. This shield was recovered from ogres in another location, and has already been researched as far as it's previous owner at Felbarr by Kelnar. I shall keep this shield until such time as I can make my way to Felbarr and deliver these reports, and will set the shield in front of the Barakor for judgement.
