The Lady Cold, Frostspeaker's Quest

Post by CloudDancing »

"Is it done then?"

The imperious glare of the Inquisitor of Auril's lavender eyes softened for a moment as her companion, Taigia, bumped foreheads with her. The celestial wolf whispered softly in her mind, They were so distracted, they did not see their bodies behind them.

Taigia churffed softly and nudged the Lady Cold, her ice blue armor shimmering with shards of enchanted perpetually frozen ice, toward a certain secret place among the glaicers. Nearly seven feet tall, Frostspeaker bent her muscular form and lifted the remains of the two travellers up under each arm roughly.

"Weak," she grumbled, "Bring the other as well." Taigia complied. She stalked farther up into the frozen wastes, unharmed by the biting cold, whipping her hair into a frozen rictus.

Finally she reached an ice cave, hollowed in a descending crevasse. She carefully laid down her burdens, then mounded up snow with her bare hands. When finished, she whispered a well-practiced litany and then a prayer to the Frostmaiden, then she blew a cone of cold breath over her creation and the two thrones were frozen solid.

She carefully arranged the remains of the lost ones in each throne methodically, showing no pleasure, her breath steaming. Finally she took the last, and set it upon one of their laps almost reverently. Frostspeaker stepped back, her eyes distantly looked upward to the stormclouds above. "Taigia, finish the work of Her."

The great celestial wolf, flocked with ice cyrstals, took a deep breath and blew a huge wave of frost over the corpses untill they were beautifully frozen forever into the glaicer wall. As sentries they would stay forever beautiful and untouched.

"Praise Auril." the cold-eyed, frost-haired, beatuiful woman remarked without emotion.
In her mind, the soft voice of Taigia echoed, Praise Auril, Sister. They are one with us now. Let their spirits run wild.
