A Land Far Away

So I was trying some other PW with EE to see how they do their stuff.

Arelith was my first try, and I was pretty disappointed. It reminded my so much of Everquest with all the micromanagement. Areas are tiny and everything is dark.

However, their areas are gorgeous. But I imagine if you have a small area over the years you could really customize it. I like the areas more spreadout, though.

Lots of crafting everywhere. I don't know if that is good or bad.

There were 68 players when I was on, but I couldn't find anyone to RP with, they are all running around doing stuff

That's more or less my experience with other PWs.

I'll try and get some testing done on database this weekend.

I did find some good RP on Arelith, but yeah it depends.
Their areas DO look nice, and consider also that they are not using any haks at all!!
There’s a lot of customized contents and functionality that are cool, specially RP XP and adventure XP.

I have become very fond of RP XP, despite initial reservations. Not only does it allow me some progress at all during my weird time windows, it also means people who can be arm-twisted into logging in to rp with me also get at least some cookies for their time. It is a winning concept despite its Pavlovian baseness.

The way it works though on Arelith is that you only get a fraction of your XP when an event occurs (like killing a monster, discovering a new area, etc) and the rest is banked.
Every tick, as you get your RP XP, you also get a small percentage of your other banked XP.
So you're in no rush if you want to RP
