Well, I just splashed out on a Shapeoko 2 for myself, i'll be able to get my cnc art, on.

Looking forward to assembling it, and breaking some milling bits, while creating much saw dust. Now i'll just need to create some space in the shed for it...

Well you could store it here at my house, we can set it up next to my other wood working stuff. About to start running oak that is over 100 years old thru a planer. The really neat thing is that it came from Stormbringers great grandparents house that we tore down. *grins*

I'm sure that the answer is "it doesn't" -- but how does that device note the temperature of the bit?
Wouldn't you... y'know... repeatedly heat them up until they break?

This is a Dremel mounted on an XY table. No temperature monitoring.

Aaaaand they just put out the new model, but I'm cool with that. This was a much better (xmas special and lower besides) price, and well tested by the community.
Plenty of well documented mods to emulate, should I do choose.

Time being a precious resource...
Today i got a chance to play around with it a little more. Borrowing art from Zelknolfs library thread I made this on scrap wood. A lot of detail was lost in quick and dirty file conversions but...
