Share a photo?

Post by Rumple C »

I thought it would be interesting to share a photo and see what other people might want to share in return.

I can't say this is my fav one that i've taken, but it is certainly one of the most interesting.

From an underground mine, in Australia, about 1km down.

I'll try to use this thread to help motivate me to return to my photography this year. I am probably picking up a new DSLR next month as well. Here is an older photo of mine for my photography club. The topic for that month was "Zen"

I need to start huffing the chems again this year, also.

Black and Whites on TriX w/ a pre-war Soviet Rangefinder and glass and color with an early 80s OM system, the best darn SLR (minus the D) system out there!

Its a pain in the ass for action shots and candids but the process is fun (its a little like sniffing glue). The other nice thing about film is that Ill never lose it like I might with digital. Of course, I may never find it again as I just throw it all into a box which sorting thru might be hellish, but hey its in there somewhere!

I have a number of prints I made myself but ... they take work to scan and upload.
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Paazin, I use a film scanner. Scanning the negs or slides works so much better than scanning the prints. I rarely even make prints these days unless its something I really like.

I learned to scan negatives last year. It is a very rewarding process and you can save "bad" negatives. These are some of my outdoor pics from the Puget Sound:

Nice thread. Fun to see the shot from a real mine. I love Paazin's vintage pictures. And the rest is good too.

I don't even deserve the name of amateur, but here's a fortuitous view from the Old Country:

I'm pretty sure you get jailed if you go to Fushimi Inari and don't take that pic.
