I'm worried to watch it after the mess they did with the first film.
Is it bad when you loved the book ?

Me too. They did such an amazingly awesome job with LotR but then they turned the Hobbit into some sort of live-action (barely) Disney cartoon movie.

I absolutely loved the Hobbit. When I was younger, it was way more approachable and readable than LorR. Eventually I read them all and the Silmarillon, but the Hobbit is where it started for me.

Eh, I expected Legolas all along. From a movie and marketing standpoint, bringing this, an obvious tie-in to LotR for even the most slow-witted of watchers, is an almost compulsory thing.
Just don't get me started on the apparent need to bring in some elf girl to go along... what is this, JJ's Star Trek and we need to establish cases of the not-gays? Grooaaan...

Bla bla. Im smart and jaded.
Shut up already.
We should stone the new hobbit movie and its creators with old copies of the books.

While I watched the first movie and was entertained by it, it was not for me THE HOBBIT, but simply a movie inspired by the book, I expect more of the same in the successive films. That said I don't feel any real need to watch these films as I did when Jackson made the LOTR trilogy. I expect the new interpretation has a lot to do with Del Toro's influence in the production of these films... and the need on the part of studios to create another money-making trilogy.

Although to be fair to Del Toro, his main reason for leaving the project was, I believe, the pressure from the studio to pad it out from 2 movies to 3.
