Any of you super genius Internet people know how I can access Facebook and Youtube in Shanghai, China?

I know there are ways, and eventually i'll probly pay for a VPN service, since the majority of forums and blogs on the subject lead in that direction, but i have all the faith in the world that many of you reading this know a simple and reliable way around this method, and I hope you share!

Cheers,

The United States government and military, before they became concerned with censoring their own internet, funded projects to help repressed societies' access to information.

One such project was The Onion Router ( https://www.torproject.org/ ), which should be able to help you out.

TOR is cool, but slow as all hell.

Go the VPN route.

You've got to have some corporate buddy who will hook you up with a log-in :)

Thanks ALFA, any suggestions on which VPN website/service I can trust, and/or which one might be any good?

I DL'd TOR, but it does not work. Times out at a 25% progress bar stall after 10-15 minutes not moving while looking for a relay directory... Still might work later, but others have also suggested to go VPN, so wondering if anyone knows a good one?

:)

Problem solved.

3 months for $30.00 throught StrongVPN.com. And another $2.00 a month for a PPTP connection addon that will allow iPhone connectability as well (when I get my phone working that is...).

Works "Ok", slow, but better than nothing.

Thanks for the help y'all.

Go "Team Help Galadr0n".
