What's your worldview ?
What's your worldview ?

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully." -- Richard Dawkins
Re: What's your worldview ?
meaning is found in the world? -> don't know -> agnostic -> meaning is found in the world? -> ....... and so on
i guess i can't make up my mind....

fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity
Re: What's your worldview ?
Yeah it's badly worded: I'd constitute world with rational reality, or perhaps universe. It's a question of wether something supernatural is required to create meaning i guess. Similarily, most humanists i know would probably never reach the humanist path.

Apparantly im an Existentialist
pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

According to that chart, I'm an "atheist agnostic".
How is that even possible?

Re: What's your worldview ?
I don't get the whole meaning thing? Why does there have to be an over-aching meaning to anything? As it asks "meaning is found in the world" it makes it sound like there is one, singular meaning. In which case I'd have to answer no, and end up been a nihilist. However, if it asked "meanings are found in the world" (plural), I'd answer yes, and probably end up as a Humanist.

I was looking for the shortest way by starting at the end, but got eaten by a minotaur on the way.
The power of concealment lies in revelation.

"Agnostic atheists are atheistic because they do not hold a belief in the existence of any deity, and agnostic because they do not claim to know with certainty whether any deity exists."

Re: What's your worldview ?
Christian theist.
Also, on the issue of agnostic atheist, I've never heard that term before. I have, however, heard the terms 'soft atheist' and 'atheistic agnostic.' The latter term is essentially 'I don't know that there's a God, but there probably isn't,' and is opposed by the 'theistic agnostic,' who says that they don't know whether there's a God, but that they think there probably is.
