Two Worlds II

So, aside from the graphics, I was pretty unimpressed....until I started screwing with the magic system. And the crafting system. And the alchemy system. And the....holy fuck I love this game.

For those of you who haven't played, here's an example of what it's like to make a spell.

You cast spells using amulets. I already have a Fire Missile amulet. I crack it open. Inside, I find a fire card stacked with a projectile card. Linked to the fire card is a damage card (which makes it do damage), linked to the projectile card is a homing card (which makes it track enemies). Nice. So I skip down to tier 2. On tier 2, I place a fire card stacked with an AoE card. I link the fire card to a damage card. I also stack a 3rd fire card on top of the 2nd, increasing the damage further. This brings me to my current maximum of 3 fire cards in one spell, determined by my ranks in fire magic. So, I've created a homing projectile which does initial damage, followed by an explosion which does additional damage: a fireball.

But wait, there's more! I drop to tier 3. I add an air card, stacked with an AoE card. I don't have enough skill to link the air card to a damage card (yet), but just having the air aoe on there means that people will be knocked back by the blast created. If I were a really strong mage, I could attach a splitting effect to the projectile, and shoot several at once...or a ricochet effect that causes them to bounce of objects. And so on.

So, yeah. Anybody else enjoying TW2?

but fighting the urge to get back into WoW..... since i'm 100% into ALFA again, and having alot of fun.
