This is the new [and improved] StarCraft 2 thread for all ALFAns [and Exodites] to discuss the game, give their input and generally find matches. In this original post, which will hopefully be kept updated, I shall be putting in the names of players and their region so that others may find matches/friends to enjoy their gaming with.
StarCraft 2 is an RTS that is the [twelve years later] successor to StarCraft: Brood Wars. It is receiving widely raved ratings across the world but is not without its faults. Blizzard-Activision has done a remarkable job with it so far, but its fine-tuning and balancing until the next expansion is out will make or break the game for many competitors out there.
Now, with SC2 came a new Battlenet (B.Net 2.0), which is a bit of an annoyance to navigate (and I softened that comment, I assure you). While quick match-making is very easy, finding games with friends (and making friends outside of games) can be quite the headache, so here I will provide you with the most important thing to do: how to add your friends!
When you log into the game, the bottom-right hand corner will display a small 0 in a green box -- this is your friend's list. You must select to add a friend, and from there either request a friend from their b.net e-mail address (which we avoid using in this thread) OR you add their character. Their character is the name they chose to have when they logged into the game -- on this "Add A Friend" screen is also your character identification number, which is very important. Finally, apologies for the last thread ending up as it did. People are allowed their opinions, and everyone can often insert their foot in their mouth from time to time. Now please, discuss the game and otherwise give your information to the OP if you'd like to find some friendly matches. There are more players than listed (Loulabelle, Adanu and I believe fluffmonster, for example); however, they have opted not to post and give their information.
