Filming on The Hobbit Movie to Begin in July

Post by Electryc »

Great news. I'm happy Ian will be back. Knowing the quality of the Lord of the Rings movies. I bet Smaug will be the best portrayed dragon in a movie ever.

Oh I know the books. The company goes through Mirkwood where Bilbo rescues the dwarves from the elven dungeons of King Thranduil after they all get capture. Legolas is Thranduils son.

I could see a cameo, they might make him be one of the ones that captures the dwarves and also drag out the Wood Elf party a bit.

Hope not though

Battle of the five hosts better be 15+ minutes.

If that clip was only in 3D. On the topic of 3D, I pray they dont make this (these) movie(s) into 3D.

Considering how much of it will be CGI, I'd be surprised if they don't make it a 3D movie. I don't know how I feel about the movie. I tend to like the concept of Del Toro movies, but generally not the execution.
Current PCs:
NWN1: Soppi Widenbottle, High Priestess of Yondalla.
NWN2: Gruuhilda, Tree Hugging Half-Orc

I just hate wearing the glasses to see purposely put in 'filler' to display the miracles of 3D. I watched Alice and Wonderland in 2D and enjoyed it. Avatar, believe it or not I think ill enjoy watching that movie on blue-ray w/o 3D. 3D seems gimmikey to me. Kind of like when movie theaters in the 50's would put shockers in seats. 'THE TINGLER!'
