Children and Relationships

Post by Charlie »

Children are difficult creatures, they require attention, stories, food, and nurturing.

Women are difficult creatures, they require presents, labor, and you to do everything.

for some people, their pets ARE their children.

I don't know. I imagine a pet fish tastes a lot like fish.

Yeah, that's what holly said. Exactly like chicken.
The power of concealment lies in revelation.

The problem is that by giving into their expectations you are giving them a sense of entitlement.

I recommend giving them regular beatings.

Speaking of beating children Nick, with that silly referendum going around at the moment, the bloody Electoral Commission has lost all records that I ever existed. Voted in numerous elections already, so I don't know how they just 'lost' me...

And just to provide some content for what I speak of here, for you foreigners
The citizen initiated non-binding referendum asks: "Should a smack as part of good parental correction be a criminal offence in New Zealand?"
Don't you just love that non-biased wording?

Smacking (more accuratly: "reasonable force") was made illegal in NZ a couple of years ago, with the exception of allowing a parent to prevent a child from harming themselves or other (note: prevention, not correction, e.g., you can smack your child to stop them touching a hot element or hitting another child with a hammer, but not after they've already done it).

This referendum is to allow smacking after the fact, hence the "correction" part of the question.
