I saw that. He may actually win this suit in court, with financial damages paid.

Seems fair enough to me.

I agree. Seems that virtual law is becoming a burgeoning new field for lawyers to exploit for personal gain. Yay lawyers!

Why blame the lawyers when it's society that allows them to thrive? It's like leaving out some meat and then blaming the maggots for eating it. Take away the means to exploit and you'll see less lawyers.

Not that I see this as a exploit for lawyers getting personal gain. This case seems to be how one person put some work into creating something only for someone else to steal it and sell copies of it. Seems like a perfectly legitamite complaint to me, even if the stolen article is a virtual penis.

What I find more interesting is the "What are you going to do about it? You can't find me!" aspect of falsely perceived anonyminity of the internets.

No, I totally agree with you on this NickD, but the problem I perceive is "big picture". This could set precedent for suits for modders like me (who need that power, given our creative property can easily be stolen), but it also creates situations for stupid lawsuits ("you stole my lolcatz! i can has damages?).

Remember, it's the jurors who decide what wins and what loses, you know, *you* guys. 8)

It might be a fair case, that doesn't make it any less lolz worthy though.

Only n00bs have juries for tort trials.

You're a n00b rusty. Jury trials FTW!!! Though our judges suck too, so bench trials for civil cases would still bring similar results.
