I'm sure everyone has heard the conspiracy theories that the AIDs virus was created to decimate the black population by the American government. However, I have come up with a similar, but alternative theory!

The HIV/AIDs virus was created during the cold war era. Quickly realising that releasing it in Russia could result in a world wide pandemic very easily, the government came up with another use for it. Prisons! As everyone knows, or at least believes, man-love is rampant in prison by very large, lonely and horny men. Safe sex is unlikely to be practiced and they tend not to franternise with the general public, therefore creating a closed environment where you can use an STD to easily wipe out populations of overly aggressive men that are unlikely to be anything but a drain on society. I can only assume that the government believed that only long termers would resort to buttseks, but obviously their theories backfired and the virus got released into the general public, dooming us all.

As someone who is trying to make a career researching an AIDS-related opportunistic infection, has attended years of international scientific meetings including some of the best minds in molecular genetics and infectious disease, I think I can say with some authority that speculation about HIV being an engineered virus is absolutely absurd. Billions of dollars spent and thousands of laboratories struggle to understand fairly basic and fundamental details of HIV. The notion that some secret shady cold-war scientist cooked it up would be laughable, if it wasn't for the fact that some folks actually buy that nonsense.

Best to point your conspiracy-brains at something that just requires a few amoral CIA agents or the like- then you shouldn't have to grapple with things like scientific plausibility.

The US gov't is definiely not responsible for HIV. We can't even inspect bridges properly in this country, let alone engineer some untreatable super virus.

Want to stop AIDS? go buy a pack of condoms and use them. the infection rates would drop by 90% +

As conspiracy theories go, that one is pretty feeble. A virus that attempts to attack based on certain genetic properties of the victim would make a lot more sense then one that strikes indiscriminately.

If this disease had been engineered, then the team that did it sucks. Granted, the idea to attack the very cells that are supposed to fight the virus is pretty neat. But the incubation time it far too long, the chance of an infection far too small and the virus itself far too weak.

Conspiracies require a nebulous, nefarious and competent organisation behind them.

The War on Drugs was created to decimate the black population by the American government, specifically Richard Nixon, who is famously quoted as saying, "We have to get at the blacks, without looking like we're getting at the blacks."

However, the current fear in Homeland Security is some twisted kid in a molecular biology lab cooking up a homegrown virus and releasing it, when the technology becomes available in the near future of course. If a twisted kid could do it, certainly a black ops lab could do it. The technology is becoming better all the time.

Humans contracted aids from primates by eating their poorly cooked monkey flesh aka bushmeat. It was spread by stupidity, and will kill alot of people by the time it's through.

My conspiricy theory is that government contractors are manipulating and killing modern goverment and democracy for the phat lewt. Sadly this one is also true.

That's what they want you to think! They make a few mistakes, let a few terrorist attacks past so nobody takes them seriously and then they can get away with all sorts of things like assassinating JFK and spreading AIDS amongst the prison populations!

funny thing happened to me.
I was a waiter in a restaurant, and after witnessing a new customer come up to the bar, and procede to pick her nose and wipe it on the counter, demanding a glass of water, and propositioning several customers for free sex.
I was asked to ask her to leave by my manager. (i was the only male waiter at the time on the floor)
So, i asked her to leave, she punched me. I grabbed her wrists, she kicked me. I stood on her feet, she wrenched her body around and bit deep into my arm.
Blood.
yeah, i freaked out, called the cops. she was arrested. I noticed though she had track marks up and down her arm, like a subway in New York. Her teeth were rotten, and grey-yellow.
I had to go to the doctor/hospital for stitches, and an HIV test.
three HIV tests later, still clear. However,
I wanted to know if I could find out if "She" was HIV Positive.
turns out. You Can't.
If someone is raped, or assaulted... The Assailents medical history is private, and there is no law to have their medical conditions known to a judge.

So My Conspiracy Theory is...

Why cant we have laws that allow a victim of a blood related assault, access to the assailents med. history?

Other than that... HIV is a serious problem, and I have spent Years and Years sometimes double bagged, at a loss of true carnal sensation, only to be bit by a random drug addict who may or may have not giving me Aids.
