World of Starcraft!!

Post by Lusipher »

Its not been offically confirmed yet, but it will be on May 19th! First news will leak out of an event in Korea that Blizzard is having there. A whole new MMO, but set in the world of the Protoss, Zerg, and Humans :!:

Just a rumor. There's an equally strong rumor that it's Starcraft 2, and I dearly hope it's that. Don't need another goddamned MMO, though if it were like Planetside I'd be tempted.

Of all those resource based games, StarCraft was my favorite. I might even be tempted to play an MMO based on it, though I'd far rather have SC2.

+1

World of Warcraft was bad enough. Could you imagine what crappy dance moves they'd have to come up with for zergs? Just thinking about how they'd bastardize it all just makes me wanna purge my breakfast.

You guys are just tards. WoW is a lot of fun if your with the right folks. Its not a great place to Rp, but its a lot more fun than most games on the market. As for a SC MMO I would enjoy it, because we need more sci fi MMOS and far less fantasy. I am sick to death of fantasy games.

MMOs are a plague. They should enforce a 18-year old limit to play. Fine the company that runs it if people younger than 18 is caught playing. That should teach them.

It ruins a lot of kids these days (and adults).

On-topic, SC1 was cool. A sequel should be nice.

Starcraft 2 please, starcraft 2. While a world of Starcraft would be interesting, I'd be much more happy with a starcraft 2.

EVE is the only space mmo I need.

Also I don't think Blizzard has any interest in cutting into it's own profit, which a world of starcaft would do.

It's possible if they have one subscription for both games it may encourage enough new people to start playing. Those of us that aren't keen on paying US$15/month for a single game...
Current PCs:

NWN2: Gruuhilda, Tree Hugging Half-Orc

No it wouldn't. If people jump ship from Warcraft to Starcraft, it's not like it's a different company. Some would maintain accounts in both, and Starcraft would attract a new bunch of people (particularly if it's nothing like WoW; think something like Planetside, or the 40K MMO). In any scenario there's no way they can lose. Other than Blizzard turning into a shitty MMO only company, which they seem to be well on the road to.
