Post Deletes

You know, i'm really friggin' tired of finding my posts deleted. Is this happening to anyone else?

Alright, let's simplify the issue here, as this has reached a level of absurdity.

Since the incidents over the past few months, i've witnessed behaviors and treatment (in addition to these random post deletions) that has gone way overboard, including being threatened with a perma-ban me if i participate further in any contentious discussions at the forum or in chat. I state, as i stated earlier, that what little was presented to me, and described to me, of the logs presented by one member, a month after the incident, were fabricated and/or edited. I state, as i stated earlier, that all my efforts in the past have been sincere, of high integrity, and with good intentions to the project as a whole. I take responsibility for who i am and how i deliver my message, as well as the wrinkles i create to those with what i determine as destructive self-serving endeavors. I cannot, however, take responsibility for the actions committed by others in this community.

Through the events these past few months, it has become exceedingly evident (to me) that i no longer wish to participate, nor do i believe in the viability of this project. I do not see a change in this perspective, nor do i see a reason to encourage this unhealthy relationship.

All that said, i am making a formal request to have my membership deleted, and posing a request to be 'voluntarily' perma-banned from this project.

Well that's bullshit. Seems the 'unwritten' policy is that the only means to be banned is if i break some rule, as opposed to merely requesting to be banned.

So, you guys/gals want me to break alfa rules? Ever heard of 'prevention?' Talk about a self-destructive community. Doesn't even know when to accept voluntary requests aimed at protecting the community.

Actually, i've already been threatened by Zicada (he called it a 'deal') to be perma-banned from the forums and chat if i posted anything contentious. So, i gather this counts as contentious, right? Or should i include the logs of our chat, his attempt at extortion?

Alright, maybe some of you already saw through the thinly veiled attempt at bringing up a problem with Zicada, and thus are ignoring the message presented. Ah well, perma-bye.

Umm... why not just don't come here anymore? I mean you don't need a ban to stop coming to the forums. Delete the url from your history and links and all that if they call to you too much...

Yeah, everyone comfortably wearing their blinders. U guys don't realize what a friggin' insult it is to be voting Rusty into the DMA position. First he treats people like crap, this community doesn't do shit, then i speak up about it, and many weeks later, in order to gain one particular admin's support, he presents an edited log.

What kind of b.s. is this, that you would care more for 'his' version of standards implementation over the community's overall welfare? What kind of b.s. is this that you would allow an admin to state whatever he feels like stating (calling me a liar, for example), and allowing him to delete posts at his leisure? What kind of b.s. is this that you would sit here and 'let' members of this community be treated with such disrespect, and then reward those who do the disrespecting?!?

I disagree krbang, things have changed... for the worse, and all the jokes in the world will not dismiss the fact that this community is no longer about fun, it's about power-trips and behind-the-scenes character assassination.

Maybe bullshit isn't the right word... guys/gals, focus on what's important... a community that cares about each other and wants to work together on a mutual endeavor, not one that is so project-oriented it sacrifices members to the abuses of a select few.

Dude, there are other NWN2 projects out there and in the works. ALFA isnt the only place for decent RP in Faerun based worlds. Dont sweat it. Things have changed here a lot since we both joined long long ago. Its not the same folks who made this place great, but there still are a few good folks trying their best to carry on. I personally just wait and see what their servers are going to look like and will decide from there. Its still way early and I still might develop something with some older ALFAns Ive been in contact with. Who knows man.

Dont let it bug ya, though. ALFA isnt what we remembered. Doesnt mean its the end of the world, though.

Right, so your contention is that i'm having an emotional outburst.

Well, i'm not. I'm actually very level-headed right now, and am thoroughly annoyed at how zicada's 'threat' to ban me, should i post anything contentious, has stayed my hand of late. No... i'm tearing off the shackles, spitting at the jailer, and yelling out for justice. I'm not holding my tongue any longer, and am going to say exactly what is on my mind. You got a problem with that?
