Okay, what kinda tunes do you folks like to put on when your doing stuff?
Cleaning around the house - Jazz of all sorts
Out for a 5k run - Ramones (Spider Man theme!) and other old high-speed classics
Crappy day at work - AC/DC and that ilk
Who else likes to put on mood music??

When doing any work that involves thinking - silence. Nothing else will do.
For non-thinking work - jazz or classical. These days, either some Coltrane, or a Bach cello concerto or two.
Running - Modest Mouse is fun. Sometimes a bit of bluegrass.
I listen to a lot of music, but it has a way of grabbing my attention, so I try not to do anything else simultaneously. Right now I'm listening to some good old Ozzy (Tribute), and I'm struggling to maintain my train of thought just typing this mindless post. I get most of my listening done when traveling, as I don't mind the distraction then.

Enya is nice and I have all her songs in my diverse collection. I agree that John Coltrane is sweet to listen to but I also have a soft spot for Stan Getz and Ray Charles. Ray's songs "Busted" and "One Mint Julep Ego" are just 2 of my favs.
When I'm running or at the gym I tend to load my iPod with classic punk, and ska that I grew up listening to what my older brothers would pump out from the basement.
When I'm cycling is the only time I go without music. I get into the "zone" quickly and do my best thinking and problem-solving as time floats by. Can't wait to try out my new Trek

Like Idoru - classical and jazz for non-thinking music... although i can work quite nicely to most baroque and pieces arranged for only a small number of instruments. Noise of any kind really grates on me when I'm really trying to work or think.
Similar to Kate - proto-punk :for running I've been dipping into some of the Stooges stuff lately.

I've been listening to this alot lately:

As well as a bunch of other mashups.
Edit:I should add, for the impatient, that the real magic happens around 4:15 when all six songs come into play and they seamlessly cut from one to the next, often mid-line.
Also been listening to a lot of comedic stuff, like this guys:
