Comment: Alright, here is the basic outline of the imformation. Cleaned up and such. I will continue to edit this as others join/decline and things get sorted out. let me know if I missed someone.

Edit 1(2/28/2006): Please all those listed above respond with your preferable Time range/meeting place. Also anyone else that wishes to join please do the same with the added information of location. I want to get this thing rolling, quite excited really.

Note: You are allowed to reply to this thread people.

Edit 2(3/21/2006): Ok well still no updates on locations. We have tons of people that want to go, but no one motivated enough to pick a place :? . also I wanted to say sorry for the long lapse in update. Been sick for the past 2 and a half weeks... now then GIVE ME A PLACE! Time set in stone, unless something seriously goes wrong with it.

I am going to suggest the date of Memorial Day weekend. It falls at the end of May- Saturday 27th- Monday 29th. Works better for people travelling a distance *coughs* 3000miles.

I have no idea whats on the East coast save New York City so someone else choose a place.

That's pretty much all there is here ;)

No idea why someone would choose a place like Virginia or the Carolinas :P

Where?

There sure do seem to be lots of tar heels on that there list. Too many on the list to have it at my house. Would you folks like me to look around to see what else might be going on on Memorial Day weekend in the Triangle area? (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill).

I notice the MD has the next most names on the list and it also has the renfair. I'd travel that far with the renfair involved, I think.

This Friday I should have time to find out whether the SF-Fantasy-Gaming-RP people in this area are doing anything that weekend.

Hm... it's in May, eh?

Well, this could be do-able to me. Then again, finding the appropriate rides and what not will be the difficult part. That, and I'm hoping someone has a steady supply of booze at hand, since you damned Americans have the drinking age set to 21 and not 19 like us sane Canadians.

Wherever it is, if I end up going, I demand to be given a list of arcade locations around the area. I must find some competition for my fighting game needs, since there's no arcades here and consoles are making me cry myself to sleep at night for the AI is so weak and pathetic and the hardest difficulties :(.

So, semi-long story short:

I wanna come. I'll need to find a ride. Get me booze and an arcade.

I could possibly attend if this is in NC, maybe VA. Anywhere else on the east coast and i'll have to bow out.

Although currently in Baltimore, the Hampton Roads area (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, etc...) are where I grew up, and have lived until about five years ago. There's a ton to do (although no RenFaire, but many arcade uber-spots) so I could help this spot along if the region fits for the group.
My personal bias would be Virginia Beach/Norfolk, or the RenFaire in Maryland. The RenFaire would offer quite a bit of ale, meandering, ale, shows, ale and general fun; I think we could even have some kind-of "formal" meeting place arranged by the Faire if our group is large enough.

I have been to the renfair in md and loved, I would be willing to head that way. I am in NC and was planning on hitting the RF up this summer anyway. I think it is a good choice. The VA Beach area is a pretty good second choice. I just moved from there and there is a lot to do.............................OPT

Tennessee. I'll come, given at least a couple weeks notice.

Travel plans changed

I don't think I can make it to Maryland even if there's a ren faire there. I may not be able to travel at all. For the same reason, I can't help with local planning if we have it in my area - Triangle Area near Raleigh, NC. I don't have anything else on that weekend and will come if I can travel.

Beginning June 6 I'm going to Atlanta for the Mythic Imagination conference, and if I take another trip a week before that I risk not being healthy enough to take that one. I advise anyone on the East Coast to check out the Mythic Imagination conference - it is really great! Their first one, two years ago, was the best con I have ever attended and I've been to a lot of them.

Ok .. it doesn't look like NC has anything going for it in May. reno fair was this week unfortunatly. I vote to just have it somewhere nice and find activities.. bars/shows/wahtever always something to do somewhere. My main concern is getting everyone together. If anyone could just look up stuff for those days in may for VA? Also anyone volenteering houses to get together at would be awsome, I know we had a few but there are a ton of peeps willing to arrive. we have just less than 2 months to figure this out ladies and gents! if nothing else i'll just start suggesting random locations and wait for the yahs and nays

NC?

I've never been in charge of any kind of con, and I won't even be able to help with this one. I can't even offer my house, though next year it would be a very good place.

I hope some person or persons from NC will volunteer to do the local scouting and arranging necessary to have it here, so I can attend. It might be an advantage to avoid the beach and resort areas on that weekend.

I will offer to teach Interplay to those interested. Look at ncinterplay.com to see what I mean. I collect all sorts of interesting non-computer games that I'd be willing to supply. I could try to get in touch with local game designers, too, non-computer and computer. This place is a hotbed of tech.

I have hesitated to promise any help, but if others are baking the cake I might be able to add some frosting.
