Score! i can do Sydney! no probs. Money ended up looking like it was going to be quite scarce around that time since i'll be going to Korea and perhaps on a cruise, but if its in Sydney, I’ve got no problems there!
I can also set up some sleeping space I suppose, but im quite far away from city central (dran would agree with me there).

Guess who has a plane ticket to Sydney?!!
We fly out of SF Wed January 25th and lose Thursday along the way, landing at 8am-ish Friday 27th! Not leaving until February 8th so any suggestions what to do with our time are welcomed! (So far just booked the actual tickets)
Any recommendations on places to stay? Unless someone wishes for our company the entire Alfacon... I assure you, we are house trained and all that good stuff.
So excited now!!!!!

I am all booked up too. Arriving in Sydney on Friday the 27th at about 2:15pm.
Lou: If you can stomache it (both the height and the cost) do a bridge climb. I havnt done one yet, and it is fairly expensive ($180 australian) but apparently it is an amazing feeling, and something i plan to do at some point (despite my fear of heights

Get yourself a copy of Lonely Planet guide to New South Wales. There's heaps of amazing things there. The two things that jump to mind would be spending a few days camping in Mungo National Park - a large (dried out?) salt lake. Very desert like. But then I guess you get them over in the US so that may be nothing special, I don't know. Also there's the rain forests. I think there's a smallish one a few hours (4?) north of Syndey - I'm hoping to head up there myself before the ALFAcon. And of course the Blue Mountains. That's one place I have been. A few hours outside of Sydney (train ticket there cost around $15 in 2000, I think). Just a large national park with some amazing walks and scenery, and of course has the Janola Caves, which is a must visit place!loulabelle wrote:Guess who has a plane ticket to Sydney?!!![]()

Flying in around lunch-time to Sydney on Friday the 27th. Sunday night I'll go see my cousin and I'll head back about midday on the 30th..
Looking forward to it..
So activities.. hmm..
* Well Boozing of course should probably be early in the piece and then some
* Mebbe a bit o pnp action wouldnt be a bad thing, mebbe not combined with the boozing this time?
* Theres some Viking Exhibition on at the Australian Maritime Museum
* The Chinese New Year festival is on around that time and we could check that out
* Need to check on this.. but the Hyde Park barracks museum had(has) an exhibition on punishment for convicts.
Thats all I have for now.. I'll keep looking for some interesting stuff

Might see if Bool has a spare sofa or something. This trip is going to cost enough.
I'm leaving for Aussie (well, a stop via Auckland first to visit family for a day or two) around the 14th of next month, so it would be great if we could get a rough idea of what is happening before then.
