Swift, it is only extremeist because that is the choice given. Some may say "Well X is not an extremeist" and I will say b.s. It appears you have to be these days in order to be in politics, both sides. Unfortunate byproduct of a 2 party dominant system.

I suspect it's more a slide into old behaviours. Which is a pity because I was really liking the new Danubus/Lusipher.

Kest, it's merely quite apparent Danubus/Lusipher/Aurora/Bob never actually dealt with death or loss, and never experienced even a fraction of the hardships associated with war. It's all some show on television to him. 50% 'collateral damage' seems reasonable to him. Let's incarcerate one innocent citizen for every criminal and have them serve life sentences.

A 1:1 ratio is intolerable Dan, even worse it is likely 2:1 ratio. As well, to completely gloss over the false positions for being in Iraq, the blatant exploitation of America's lust for revenge (or justice, however you wish to 'phrase it'), the almost total abandonment of the initial agenda for a preordained agenda, etc etc.

God, I wake up and it turns into "lets bash Danubus/Lusipher" thread.

Its political season, folks. There isnt anything wrong with discussing politics. Yes, if it gets heated then its wrong. Only folks I see getting heated are the ones who are bashing me and especially you WW for telling me to Shut up. Last time I looked we can still talk about politics and all the other things that off topic has stood for. Well, if they arent going to change it why not discuss it. I'm not going to go after someone like many of you are so blatently doing right now. Im discussing the topic. Poking a bit of fun once in awhile too, but not outright dissing a person like many of you are to me.

1) I find Mulu's pictures pretty damn funny. I can laugh at them even though im a republican.

2) Swift, you my friend just want to complain. Anytime I was ever irked off at censorship on the forums or some heated topics was when it went overboard. I was running PR and the things some of the "irc bunch" did was humourous at times, but others it was just too much. No one wants to do anything about it so why should I care? I came into this thread only wanting to discuss politics and Im very proud of this pick for VP. I knew coming in some folks would attack her because ALFA is full of liberal, left wing thinkers from all over the world not just in my home country. Its not a big deal to me to see them trying to bash her or me. Im kinda use to it by now being here for the number of years I have been.

3) Magile: nice try but im not biting

I love my Fox news. Its a damn good station. They have screwed up reporting before, but so has many other stations. I'm just happy they are not as over the top whiney arses like MSNBC. At least Fox News is professional and not just sensationalism. Thanks for playing

There has never been any hard grown rules as to what is cool or not. I put the Obama pic in my avatar to put my support for the McCain/Palin ticket and wont remove it till after the election. Its my way of campaigning. I dont think its any different than TT putting up his silly little humourous pics in every section of our forums. The problem is you and others dont like it because you dont like me dissing the candidate you like and you hate the ones I back. Get over it.

I've given up trying to worry about it. I've pretty much quit playing and I left ALFA in pretty good shape with PR when I quit that. When and if Kate gets done building and/or I find a few new folks to play with Ill start playing in ALFA again. I just am not real thrilled with current ALFA and TSM doesnt really support my play choice at the moment. Zicada is the current IA and he wants to leave off topic as it is, so there we go. I just wont go over the top and havent. If someones feathers are getting ruffled over a pic or what im saying then thats their problem. We all cant be cast in the same mold or belief system and I never will.

New Me is still here. What have I said in this topic that offends you except that I think that the war was justified? I too hate the fact many people died (civilians and troops from all countries), but I know that its just how it goes when wars happen. It actually amazes me how easily some of you get offended about anything. Sometimes I think you do just because its me saying it. It just gives you something to complain about. Its always been easy for folks here to start whining if I said something. Its been pretty funny to look back on it because certain others could say anything they wanted and no one would say one word, because they fall into a certain group of friends, etc here and it was overlooked. Never been that way with me because I have few folks I choose to hang out with here and I dont kiss peoples rears and never will. I think I've handled this thread pretty well, NickD. Again, what does this have to do with me? I quoted something that was put on TMZ.com. I thought it was funny that a mainstream celeb website was actually seeing what a lot of folks have seen for over a year or more now about MSNBC. Ever since they hired Obermann the network has gone farther to the left. Chris Mathews has always been hardcore left and he notched it up with his retoric. Scarebourough was a pretty decent republican that had joined the station and he use to actually stand up for republicans on that network, but it changed quite recently and he has been very tempered/controlled with what he has said about any person who is a dem. I believe its just the total shift of that network as TMZ said to be the " I hate George W Bush Network".

As for my supposedly easily dismissal of tragedy... you dont know me, dude. You dont know how i feel. As I said, though, before...Im a realist. We see a lot of bad in wars and even though its tragic that it happens sometimes its just the way it is. If one day the Iraqi people learn to rise up and become a healthy stable (heh I had stale)nation then It will be a sacrifice thats justified.

Once again you generalize and honestly dont know what your talking about. You just write tripe down without even thinking. I've had family and friends die in a number of past wars. I've seen how war affects people when they come back. I've seen how Agent Orange caused cancer to a family member and how he suffered from post traumatic stress syndrome. You honestly just have no idea what your talking about and I find it very insulting that you would say something as dumb as that. Then again, many folks have seen you go off the deep end the past few months and I guess we should expect it.

You my friend are the one whos all drugged up and cant get around without them now. Your life must be pretty awful now with your body failing you like it has. I know when I was dealing with all the side effects from my seizure medicine that my whole mind and body was changing. I went through mood swings, lack of appetite, and couldnt even work for awhile because the drugs were changing me so much. I guess it feels pretty awful for you and you feel the need to just take it out on someone to make you feel good even for a few moments. I feel for you, man, but I still wont let you take it out on me. I didnt put you in that wheelchair.

As for your whole "Casualties happen in wars, get over it" attitude, I guess the sticking point here is that after all the lies are filtered away, the only justifiable reason to start this war was "to make people livs better" and frankly, mate, given that budget and permission to end that many lives, a dyspeptic naked mole-rat could have gotten a better "Cost vs Number of lives improved" ratio than your wonderful CinC.

ALFA has shown they dont want to change Off topic so when in Rome do like the Romans. I can discuss topics without attacking folks. People just need to debate calmly and at least try and respect the other person. So, Hypocrasy or not, thats just the way it is. I'm going with the flow.

I would say to you to watch MSNBC. You think Fox is over the top? watch that station a bit. Its gotten so bad that their main guy, Tom Brokaw, is appauled by how bad their station has is right now.

CNN is actually been pretty straight forward lately. I've been pretty impressed with it of late.

I dont watch the BBC or any foreign news except once in awhile I will watch Sky. Then again, Sky is the sister station to Fox.

Go actually check out the different stations in America. Tell me which ones are pretty out there and which ones arent. All your doing is going on what you hear. Maybe a clip or two of a screw up on Youtube. I could probably find a bunch that other stations do as well.

We have allowed discussion of religions, politics, sexual orientation, etc for years so I guess why not? I was actually trying to have a good discussion then all of you ran in going "blah blah blah Danubus/lusipher blah blah blah". Same old tactics by some of you. Kinda hilarious.

Anyway, if you want to dicuss the topic please do. If you want to continue to try and bash me then Id ask you do somewhere else. We were discussing american politics and the choice of VP for the republican party. Can we get back to that now?
