Quickest '1 month' delivery I have ever seen :D

Edit: Oh yes, and for those that are reading it, I am keen to hear whatever feedback you have, whether it be in depth critique or just wanting to tell me its shit, I want to hear it. I plan to do NaNoWriMo again this November with a more original idea (ie not set in an existing IP) so hearing what did and did not work for different people is what I need (even if it might hurt a little :D)

It came from Germany instead of the US which explains that ;)

Did you want that feedback on the forum or as a PM? I'm liking the book as a whole, and critique is as a reader, as you have written more books than me.

Breasts.

It's all about the breasts. I know more about the disposition, relative condition and visibility of her breasts than I do about Zalanthe.

I can see where this is going though.

I think we are going to find that in fact Zalanthe is not a Favored Soul, but that she is just a vessel for the Favored Breasts of Corellon.

Enjoying the story, just a thought that popped into my mind while reading. It will probably make more people read it now.

Perhaps rename the Book to "Breasts of the Moon Maiden". It's got a nice ring to it.

:P

That's saved for the Kindle store to really boost the income ;)

Taken on board, I did not notice that as something that really stood out (pardon the pun) but ill keep an eye on it once I finally get to read through it myself.

As a a small update, anyone who has read it I would like some overall feedback before November rolls around and I do it all again. Things like story structure and flow, character development and the like are the biggest things iI am looking fo (and so far the things I have had the least feedback on)

If there are any glaring issues that iI need to fix in my writing, id like to hear about it before i try write another book :D

Posted here or PMs are fine.

Spoiler:
I read it and my thoughts from my perspective is that while *I* can totally relate to your Alfa cameos and ancillary characters borrowed from thus, I think they need a little more flavor as far as physical descriptions and better background/flashback development to help flesh out Zalanthe moreso.

A good example is Sylvanie. She does get some good dialog in but I never really got to "see" her in relation to Zalanthe proportionally. And it would be good to know how they met and a little more of their romance and how it played into the current situation. Or the sea captain seemed a really interesting character I would like to know more about.

I also missed some of the extended elements of your forum stories and your earlier flashbacks with Celendur that I always found romantic and pleasing thought I did read them in key spots woven through out the story.

The adventure scenes were really good. The scary orgasmo-killer drow was really freaky. And I did sort of want Zalanthe to stay drow colored till the next book. I always like cliff hangers.

All over it reads like an FR novel which is excellent.

You have inspired me to have another go an Nano this year. Not set in the FR, but a Science-Fantasy setting of my own making. Will be loosely based on one of my ALFA characters though. I think I quit last year because I put too much pressure on myself to write a 'perfect' book.

*puts on ML hat*

Huzzah another one to the Insanity Pyre!! Yes yes yes do Nano, it is fun. Find your fellow local Wrimos, go to writeins, participate in word wars, do the sleepover party (that might be just my Region...) make it fun and social. It's tough to do Nano alone. Befriend your MLs, we do not bite and chances are, we'll word war with you to the 11th hour if needed to help you win. Or bring you coffee, chocolate or write you personal pep talks.

I also took a writing class where the teacher gave some excellent material on world-building which I absolutely plan to give out to my Wrimos this year to help them plan their stories a little better. Nearer November (and in a Nano specific thread) I'll share them here with you and Swift and other Alfans who plan to participate again this year... GrandFromage? Nuran?

Nano isn't about writing a perfect story. Nano is about getting a story down in a short amount of time. A story... with typoes, grammar errors, half finished sentences, plot holes, characters whose eyes change colour. A mechanically imperfect story, but a story where characters are created, who do wonderful and terrible things, who have dialogue and who live and die. Nano is about planting the seed and growing the tree. You can prune it to a perfect topiary later.

WOOOOO NANO!!!

Sorry for hijacking your thread Swift :-X

Swift has inspired me to finish the fscking story in Nano 2012!

Quite alright Lou, I would be quite interested in those notes on world building sooner rather than later as I am in the early planning stages for NaNo 2012 and was going to use either a real world setting or my own and since I like to have everything planned out ahead of time, would benefit more with the advice earlier.

Then again I am still in the stage of thinking up the characters so it may not be too urgent :D

Edit: Yes, get social with NaNo, even if that just means popping into the chat channel for your local group. You can feed off the energy of others and they help you when you get stuck. The all night write in we did last year was fantastic for me. Word wars all night and got me 10,000 words for the day. Can't wait for it to come around again.

Swift just give me an e-copy at Castano@inbox.com. It can even be in MS word format or a pdf or whatevers.

And you should be selling this stuff. RA Salvatore is quite possibly one of the worst writers ever, and he's sold piles of books.

I will do Nano this year and possibly link together my entire library posts into one coherent whole.
