Majestic 12 can kiss my fat hairy arse! If they are so potent how come a bunch of smelly hippies know all about them and their insidious ways?Grand Fromage wrote:hello psionics! Damn man, if you don't watch out MJ12 is gonna grab you. :O

Saw the movie on the 3rd and I have to say it was the best action flick I think Ive ever seen. Just seeing the robots fighting in the streets of some major city was cool as hell. I personally am going to see it again and cant wait for a sequel!

Was very cool. Didn't seem as long as the actual running time. Would have prefered that the plot center on the robots rather than the humans...a subplot around Starscream's eternal treachery would have been cool.
And man, when Optimus knifed that one Decepticon...that was uber cool.
Would have liked to see Megatron's gun form, rather than some funky lookin aircraft.

no Megatrons a plane, but he does have the gun at one point, Where he shoots prime. If you look closely it somewhat resembles what he was in the cartoons.
Seriously cant wait for a sequel, tho im a little disappointed with how many of them karked it.

I saw this movie on Friday and all I have to say is ...
WOW. I mean seriously, I was never a fan of transformers in cartoon or toy form, but this movie blew me (and my son) away! The action was seriously intense and the robots were beautifully done - and - WOW. Some of the impacts, some of the action sequences, they just made me jump back and say ... um ... WOW.
Oh, and it didn't hurt that the main car was a Camaro (me being a Camaro owner and fan) and it didn't hurt that the hot-chick was named Mikaela (me being named Mikayla). So, it had that going for it too!

And now you have/seen/viewed by assemble shows can suck... from sheer weight. example? G.I.Joe... that series has litterally hundreds of individuals. How the current comic series dealt with that was to retire/reserve a large portion of the group. quick a few have been killed, as far as comic cannon goes.Charlie wrote:I think they could probably either make up new charactors, or introduce one of many personalities this franchise produced.
The same for Transformers (though when newest comic series came out a couple years ago, im not sure if It's also cannon with the original marvel comic series)
But either new chara's or remake~overs of older ones...
do you really care? Three Words. Fanboy-Wet-Dream.

I just saw the movie, and it's a McVay flick. It's no better than Armagedon. I've also realized that I've grown up far too much to fully enjoy .... simple joys such as watching an overbudgeted, badly cut action flick.
As far as compared to the animated movie, I'd say they are equal.
I cannot reccomend this movie for those looking to enrich themselves. For those who want to see it to fulfill a sense of nostalgia, and to hear re-used quips, by all means it's a Chocolate Sunday With Bacon Bits for the soul.
And yet again, it's yet again a toy commercial. For big boys, and for the little ones.
I also can't help but mention how many times bit charactors used the word "this is so cool" in the movie, as though you were supposed to accept it.
What I did get from the movie was an adreneline rush, but watching anything with explosions would do that, so does nearly breaking your neck in an auto accident.
The price of the Matine was worth it, and I'm glad I didn't see it when it first came out.

Mr. Charlie has officially nerded this thread up from jump.
Anyway, I do agree in one respect, it is a McBay flick. It's not overly-intelligent, there have certainly been overall better action flicks that have come along, but... it's Transformers. For anybody goin' into the movie expectin' the above, shame on thee! Go in and see the movie for what it is. Don't sit in there expecting it to make some high-minded, philosophical, socio-political statement to you intellectually superior people. See? I can nerd stuff up too.
Stop overanalyzing. Everything can't be "Ghandi". Just enjoy a dumb, heart-pounding, mile a second, metal crunching, building evicerating, explosion packed, transforming, action flick. It was a very entertaining movie.
Oh. And whatta y'all mean no sequel? This movie put the "oop" in Alley Oop. The last speech given by Prime sets the stage for many sequels to come. "... to any autobots out there hiding amongst the stars..." C'mon. We're gonna see no less than 2 more of these things. Trust me. There were so many Transformers that weren't in this flick.
