Damn it! Ven has figured it out. We are going to need a whole new diabolical and insidious plan to take over the post-count.... ;)

I dunno. This 'OT hurts the community stuff'...well, maybe it's true.

But I'd wager it doesn't hurt as much threads like the recent DMA questionaire thread in general discussion.

I'm aware of one person who's public said something to the effect of 'OT made me angry, I quit'. I'm aware of quite a few more who said 'ALFA poltics is teh suxxor, I'm outta here'

Aye, i understand your thought there mxlm. I just don't want you to forget the 'green light' effect associated with Off-Topic, which undermines the project via bleeding of thoughts, opinions, attitudes, hostilities, and other 'judgements' imposed during Off-Topic debate.

It's like giving everyone authorization to urinate, defecate, and disgorge in a particular roped-off section of the community's swimming pool.

Do we *really* need an OT bashing thread every two months? Isn't this a dead horse by now?

I've said it before and unfortunately I'll probably have to say it again: Election threads are consistently the most vicious threads in ALFA. And I *have* had my mind changed by posts in OT. Though admittedly it's been awhile.

I have to say, the OT topics change my mind all the time. Normally I want nothing more than to voice my opinion on these normally useless topics....but then I change my mind after reading the whole thread and realize....whats the point.

*realizes I said that out loud and covers my mouth*

Uh...what am I doing here oh.....sorry to inturrupt........

*runs out the door*

Not true. Once, in a A Land Far Away, I use to play goodly characters till I found out how freaking boring they truly are

Partly. It's like doing that while not taking more than minimal steps to prevent defecation in the rest of the pool.

Actually, I guess it's more like providing a roped off area for defecation that only a minority uses, the majority (or, more precisely, the larger minority) prefering to defecate in the main area. The largest group, of course, chooses--perhaps wisely--not to partake of the pool at all.

Newcomers viewing the pool are often frightened away, unless they have certain fetishes.

I do admit evil characters are more fun.
