the Tsunami's even made it down here in the form of 1m high swell during low tide. I feel for the Japanese at this time... the quake was terrible but the aftermath is going to be even worse and will carry on for months

I hope that the new quake wasn't that bad for you.
I saw that some buildings went down and that there was about 10 wounded.

Ive left Christchurch luckily. We couldnt take anymore shakes. Right now I am on holidays in Argentina (not far from the volcano spewing out ash as it happens 
), before we move back to the less shaky Queenstown.
I really feel for my friends in Christchurch right now, going through that is horrible and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. I know Christchurch/Cantabrians are a staunch people but at some point you have to wonder whether it is worth it to remain. I am predicting another big exodus to the North Island and Australia after this one (70,000 left after the feb 22nd one and not a lot of them came back).
