As the video shows, though, there is no roof to the maps since the ceiling was never supposed to be seen
It's pretty silly that people are playing it as an FPS. It's meant and designed around top-down, and as an FPS is rather lacking/there are better games that you could play to get the experience.

But seriously, I am pretty awesome at frying aliens. Flamethrower has to tie with chainsaw for most fun weapon
Most broken weapons are definitely Tesla Cannon and Tesla Coil. Chainsaw is great if you're playing as Vegas (that or the Power Fist -- just be aware Power Fist + Chainsaw doesn't stack) and the Flamethrower as a lead (not Leader/Officer, just leading ahead of the squad) will keep people alive on Insane maps when you're fighting Parasites on the first mission.

I agree that playing as FPS seems a little pointless, on the otherhand the game overall is a lot of fun, had a really good game with Cres and a couple of randoms yesterday, I like that theyve added in mic support to the game so you dont need anything like team speak anymore.
we should arrange a couple of group sessions some time soon!
that game is fun. Nothing more fun than seeing all your squadmates die then running backwards through a whole level minigun on perma-spinup escaping, with so little health you cant even see the health bar, to an evac just before a nuke goes off. Tense
playing Nathaniel Ward - Paladin of the Morninglord and devout of Torm (cookie cutter and proud of it)
heh, my first finish of the game was with a guy I didnt know, a collegue from work and fluffmonster... awsome finale, except both me and my collegue died standing on the exit grid, thankfully fluff was behind us so when we died at the same time exactly as the mission accomplished thing came up, we still won!
I'm the same as Dorn, I prefer the backward running with the heavy weapons minigun guy.
I tend to get annoyed playing with most people in the game. I think a lot of people have trouble with the concepts of friendly fire and constantly respawning aliens.
Current PCs:
NWN1: Soppi Widenbottle, High Priestess of Yondalla.
NWN2: Gruuhilda, Tree Hugging Half-Orc

Too many pubbies tend to play Sp. Weapons characters as an Officer, leading the charge and shooting out front -- which tends to rank up their friendly fire and often has them eaten alive since they don't have the punching power that Officers have with a Vindicator.

I'm not too sure why players do this, but it's the main reason why lots of people avoid public games and only go with people they know. This will be especially important once difficult custom campaigns start coming out (or the designers actually add official campaigns).

the pubs that bother me the most are people rush ahead and split up the party.
sp. weapons up front is fine (minigun will clear a room fast), its when other people rush in front of whoever is in the lead that friends get shot. But yes, spec. weap. is prolly best used covering the rear (though any flamethrower seems to be the best for that job).
