Bonus points for Kests post about the pirate song from monkey island.
Seems we're heavy on the punk and metal, so i thought i'd bring things back to a different level with a classic song i've adapted occasionally for Faerunian bards i play . Johnny Cash "A Boy Named Sue"

There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared

Haha, I remember Mord had the 'god hates us all' sample from that on his character in Second Life. He would play it constantly. It was fairly amusing.Swift wrote:Slayer - Disciple

Lacuna Coil have a lot of really good songs, but this is one of my favourites which is also on the soundtrack for one of my favourite games of all time, Vampire Bloodlines.
More on that note, one of the founders of Troika (art director) is currently working on Diablo 3.
Here is another hit from that game, Cain by Tiamat.
Awesome stuff from my dear brethren in Norway:
Enslaved (havenless) is not advised for non Vikings.
This piece by Loreena McKennitt always sends a shiver down my spine. Ethereal and beautiful.
This is just one of the many brilliant pieces by Opeth, the most outstanding act in progressive metal at the moment.
Also, kudos to Arkan and Swift for posting awesome stuff. Never heard Therion before, think I am going to have to look into them more. Also, the Cthulhu stuff is really bad, but still eerily captivating.

A quick warning. Therion has lots of shite, too. The best songs are still awesome, though. Just so you won´t get disappointed.
Sample of the stuff I like the most:
Therion: Birth of Venus illegitima
And a Manowar cover: Thor the Powerhead
And on another note...
My Dying Bride: Sear Me MCMXCIII
Btw I´m also a big fan of Lacuna Coil

My Dying Bride is pretty good stuff. Here is one of my favourite collaborations between Norway and England.

Lament of the Highborne. Just something about this that makes me shiver every time, though perhaps that is because ive actually dug into the Warcraft Lore. Sylvanas is such a tragic yet inspiring character in the lore.
Manowar - Warriors of the World United
Edguy - Mysteria
Rhapsody - Dawn of Victory
Har, i forgot some Manowar. Classic metal.Arkan Bladesinger wrote: And a Manowar cover: Thor the Powerhead

Dropkick Murphys, good shamrock punk.
Flogging Molley, more good shammy fun.
Godspeed you Blacvk Emperor, Indie classically trained from Canada...this on is pretty grim, but I've always loved it.
I will also post a Lorena McKennit tune, possibly some of the most beautiful music I know is from her.
Nine Inch Nails - big fan, and possibly one of the most haunting songs I've heard.
Always been a big fan of Peter Gabriel, from his early manic/depressive years to his later world conscious years.
A twofer here, Jeff Buckley doing a cover of Leonard Cohen, both of these rock, one was, and one is, awesome.

I gotta say, at least with a joint first, this is pretty much the best track I know this month.
