Note found near ship
Re: Note found near ship
I've got great faction with those guys. I really am gonna hate doing their quests all over again with my Paladin. He's my trade skill toon and I want the epic fishing pole that they sell for being exalted I think it is.

I decided to look at some information on the expansion. All the raid content was cleared on the 15th, game came out... when? 11th? Good game.

Worth adding a couple of points to this to put this into perspective:Magile wrote:I decided to look at some information on the expansion. All the raid content was cleared on the 15th, game came out... when? 11th? Good game.
1) The raids have been tuned for entry level raiders. That means people that really havn't raided at all (or just a little).
2) The content was cleared by TwentyFifthNovember, the new guild created by Nihilium and SK-Gaming merging into one guild. These are the top 2 PvE guilds in the world, who between them hold almost every 'world first' boss kill for The Burning Crusade.
3) The guild was farming Naxxramas back when it was an original WoW raid, so they know the mechanics inside out.
4) 'All' the raid content amounts to a reused raid (Naxxramas) and 2 single boss encounters. Not exactly much.
5) (And this is the kicker) The vast majority of both guilds were in beta and had already done the raids before.
Honestly? It does not surprise me. Their raid group wasn't even straight 80's, and they rushed to the cap without even replacing their gear. Nothing Blizzard puts in front of them is going to last long. Black Temple lasted 5 days. Most people could care less what they do or think about the tuning.
I actually find it funny, since now all they have to do is farm the raids until new content is released. Good game.
Edit: Oh, and for the record, they downed the final boss just over 68 hours after the expansion went live.

IRVINE, Calif. - November 20, 2008 - Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that World of Warcraft®'s second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King™, has sold more than 2.8 million copies in its first 24 hours of availability*, making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time. This eclipses the previous record of nearly 2.4 million copies sold in 24 hours, set in January 2007 by Blizzard's first World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade®. Wrath of the Lich King was simultaneously released in North America, Europe, Chile, Argentina, and Russia on November 13; Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand on November 14; and South Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on November 18.
In celebration of the launch, more than 15,000 stores throughout the world had their doors open at midnight to welcome thousands of expectant players. Several of these locations were attended by Blizzard Entertainment representatives, who met players and signed copies of the game.
"We're grateful for the incredible support that players around the world have continued to show for World of Warcraft," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Wrath of the Lich King contains some of the best content we’ve created for the game so far, and we look forward to seeing even more players log in to experience it in the days ahead."
"After a single day of availability, Wrath of the Lich King is already the bestselling PC game of 2008 at GameStop and ranks as one of our top-selling products so far this year," said Bob McKenzie, GameStop’s senior vice president of merchandising. "In keeping with the tradition established by their previous releases, Blizzard Entertainment has again created a product that not only reflects their high standards of quality but is clearly an instant hit with gamers around the country."
Prior to the launch of Wrath of the Lich King, World of Warcraft’s subscriber population had grown to more than 11 million players, further strengthening its position as the world's most popular subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game. More information about the new expansion can be found at the official Wrath of the Lich King website: www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath.

The funny thing about it is, in England, it came in at number 2 for the week, beaten by Call of Duty: World at War, with both games selling more than the previous years highest selling title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
