4E is pretty solid.

Cheap way out mechanical wise in many aspects, but solid and well playable.

Its extremely boring. They toned it down even Zic could figure out how to play it.

I am sure that was the point. This might be a newsflash for you, but there are far more people who dont know how to play D&D than those that do. 4E no doubt took WoWs philosophy of trying to make something that would draw in a much wider audience than they have traditionally had in the past.
