Yup, unless a program is coded to specifically suport 64 bit processing, it is still limited to 32bit processing, regardless of the amount of RAM or OS you are running.

I'm running Vista Ultimate myself and have been since March. NWN1 and 2 run fine with some admin property tweaks so don't worry too much about the game. Drivers however are a valid concern as are any existing applications you might be running. Check vendors VERY carefully and even then post in some forums to find out from others who've already made the jump. That's how I found out Dreamweaver didn't run on Vista at all until CS3 came out.

I was using existing hardware and the compatibility check said I was green to install Vista. Only afterwards did I discover I had to disable my network card and sound in BIOS to avoid blue screen crashes on Vista install. I re-enabled my net card after install just fine but the onboard sound wasn't supported by Vista at all. Finding a sound card that actually had Vista driver support which wasn't buggy as hell was a pain in the ass. I finally got an updated driver that took away some crackling in NWN2.

If you’re buying new hardware all around, check the vendor sites and look closely at their Support sections for Vista driver support and updates. Best to buy new gear with Vista support from the get-go.

As for going 64 bit. Don't waste your time. Driver support is almost non-existent.

Good luck,

Kate
