Damn it, you should be so lucky to have adventurer! Get beaten down to 1 hp, use all your consumables, and accept your 200xp/0gp.
Re: Not in ALFA
Folk must be bad at finding phat lewt containers. Gold and a potion in some mold is exactly the sort of thing that happens here.

Re: Not in ALFA
I know TSM and BG do, but does MS haz phat lewt systems in place? The joke was more pertinent to critters anyway; and I'm pretty sure no one here has found lootz from scrubbing out shower mold (yet... would be a rather pleasant and amusing surprise to spring at the right opportunity).

Critters and phat lewt are on the same system these days.
If you find no lewt, you probably travel with someone who's been twinked (or are the twinked one-- you party-ruining scoundrel you), and the system quietly waits until it can catch you doing something lewtable without those sparkly munchkins.

Mmm... sparkly munchkins.
As far as the system's concerned I'm guessing it looks at pc's wealth relative to their level, otherwise people should avoid higher lvls like the plague ... not only would they rob them of xp, but lootz as well!

Re: Not in ALFA
A little more complex-- wealth (and any wealth that you've squirreled away-- so if you dump a bunch of gold in a tree stump and go out adventuring, the gold counts against your total wealth until it's looted, and if it's looted by someone else, the looter counts as a member of your party) is compared to target wealth, which is level specific-- which produces a multiplier between x0 (cutoff) and x4 (super emergency zOMG poor), which is then multiplied by the level-specific multiplier (which is a huge range-- x1.25 for newbies, x20 for level 17+), and the final multiplier is compared to the final multipliers of everyone in the party. The lowest one is the one used to create drops, multiplied by a random number (0.3 to 1.7 -- weighted to be near 1) and the XP being dropped for (usually, the ACR will save a few kills before dropping, so you're more likely to get those valuable consumables: potions = more adventuar; adventuar = fun; potions = more fun; more potions = more more fun).
This means that even a fairly-rich highbie is unlikely to damage the loot gains of even fairly-poor lowbies (e.g. a super zOMG poor level 4 gets XP x5 in loot, and a rich level 12 also gets x5 in loot-- so neither negatively impacts the other).
The far-more-common case is a lowbie who got twinked torpedoing the whole party's loot, because it's relatively easy to break wealth on a level 3. And of course, the "counts as a member of your party" thing can bite too. Drop a bunch of twink on your lowbie friend and go out adventuring without them, their naturally-low/artificially-reduced multiplier is probably the lowest "in the party" until the ACR figures that you're not going to use its drops to break other peoples' wealth (usually a few days).

Re: Not in ALFA
Ok, more pertinent for Aglaril and lower lvl companions... does this mean a very underwear highbie will net massively photos lewtz for his companions?

*underwealth.....

Phat, not photo. Gotta love autocorrect.
Not really an entirely serious query btw in case it wasn't obvious. It will help alleviate guilt about them getting no xp though

Re: Not in ALFA
Aglaril would cause a very slight increase to total loot pulled by parties he travels with, though individuals shouldn't see much change, because we expect that Aglaril would take a share of the loot too.
Harder to make broader statements, because we've had selfish thief-ey highbies too (the highbie who just steals all of the loot from the party and hits the wealth cap will cut the party off from loot -- but that's not really level-specific; that's behavior specific, and the code is just noting "that player is at the cutoff; can't twink this party until the superselfish rogue is gone"). Still, the most-common loot cutoff scenario is something along the lines of a level 3 with a +2 stat item.
// edit -- also, Aglaril gets no XP for things that are lower than his level minus 8 in CR; this doesn't mean that the rest of the party is similarly cut off, unless the difference between their level and the killed creature's level is also outside of the reward range. If a level 1 and a level 14 join forces to kill a village of 150 CR 1 goblins, the level 14 gets no XP and the level 1 gets 150 xp.
