Girls-on-Games Kickstarter: Irony and the Obvious

Post by Veilan »

While this might be an interesting read (even if I can already picture the wife's eye-rolling and groaning), I can't help but chuckle for a book that claims to address inequality and balance between the sexes while sporting a sexist subtitle.

In its rarity, basic self-awareness seems a super power on par with common sense...

Edit: Thanks, Zelk!

The book is titled "Girls on Games" and is about the special kind of mistreatment and harassment that women deal with in the field of gaming.

What would you have titled it?

I'm guessing the "fairer" side subtitle might've been the eye rolling bit. Though I guess trying to be clever about games and, y'know, fairness?

Yeah, the reference to 'fairer sex' as a term is probably meant as a barb, given the context and content. Especially on account that reading the subtitle without euphemism means something completely different and is precisely on message.
