Protip - vaseline.

Before your newborn is wrapped up in his/her first ever nappy, smear a little vaseline over his/her bottom.

That first greenish-blackish poo sticks like tar, and a little coating of vaseline will make cleaning it off much, much easier.

And afre that, always keep a towel VERY handy while changing, eventually they will pee while the change is in progress and when it happens you'll want a towel handy or you'll get the "loose garden hose" phenomena which is funny later, but a mess to clean up
