Slightly off topic, but in response to Dorns post, this wikipedia article is pretty comprehensive in where australia is in regards to recognition of same sex couples.

It is nice to see that the federal government has committed themselves to removing same sex discrimination from over 100 laws and statutes. A step in the right direction, even if same sex marriage and civil unions are still not supported.

It's their choice ( according to the ol' Bible, God gave us free will to decide). Not a forced implementation of my belief which is as abstract as the next guy who believes in the same faith.
Actually, that "but" is determinedly misplaced, and should be a "so". Tolerance is a core christian value. Just as environmentalism (stewardship of the earth and protection of the creation), by the way.
The power of concealment lies in revelation.

I'm voting for Obama.

And in response to Mayhem: Yes, you have a free will to decide on how to live your life, and by your choice alone, can damn you here, as well as the afterlife. It's just as basic as the laws here: You screw up and don't care, and you prolly will spend your whole life rotting in some jail cell or worse.

Don't see much difference. ;p

What they *really* want is re-education camps....

There was a good spoof movie on it, I think it's called, "But I'm a cheerleader!"
You know, if any of those photos are accurate.... It just doesn't seem possible to have a 28" waist at month 7. Of course that's a big "if." :P

So, do any of you christian republicans support ID (intelligent design) teaching in schools (even science class next to evolution) ?
If not in science class, but a religion type class, should there be equal emphasis on all major religion, as well as a clear message that, according to science, religious teachings are not factual in any way ?

Also, it would be nice when some of you say you're religious, if you'd also note if you're deist or theist, since there's a pretty huge difference. It helps me to understand a great deal about who I'm dealing with.

Should there be a separation of church and state ?
Fact is, the US is one of the few states in which there actually is a clear separation, written in the constitution. It talks about the need for a wall between the state and church.

So I say this, Obama, build up that wall!
"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully." -- Richard Dawkins

Personally, No.

I support them teaching evolution.

There is in the US.

This thread has devolved into ALFA nitwits making pot shots at me and the athiests going on about religion now. Its gotten far away from the whole message and that was about McCain picking a VP that most republicans will stand by. We have seen silly pictures poking fun at her and him (which is fine), then we have went into my stance on gay marriage, and now discussing religion in school an my country.

Id appreciate if you want to post in this thread at least discuss the election and the pick of Palin. I dont really care what you think about me. I had hoped for at least a decent discussion, but its once again devolved into a ALFA pile on hate fest against myself and conservative christian republicans.

So, lets discuss the issue shall we and not your biases against what I believe in or my party.

You have to be insane to think that.

Only you could actually consider something so offensive.

They can be troubled all they want. I understand that war has bad things that happen. It wasnt just civilians who lost their lives in Iraq the past number of years. Some folks just like to be sensitive when it suits them I guess. Makes it easier for you to attack someone you dont agree with.

Excellent observation, sir.

Except out of you and me, your the only one that believes in the afterlife and eternal damnation for the wicked.

I am more than comfortable in the belief that death is the ultimate end :D

Name 1 political thread in the last 5 years of ALFA that was still on topic by page 7?

Aside from that, you started a post about a vice presidential pick, it was absolutely inevitable that the stances she has taken on some issues would get debated, and while you continually proclaim "Oh oh, they are picking on me" you freely admit many of the topics that are being discussed are ones that you and many other republicans proudly share, so it is hardly pick on Danubus day, its more like pick on religion/republican day.

Lawl. Homeschooling + teaching abstinence ftw.

Clearly, divorcé and wife-abuser McCain and eloper Palin are the Defenders of the Family Dream Team.

This has to rank as one of the top ten most digusting things I have ever read on these forums. Danubus is callous and generally ignorant but congratulations on topping him and showing yourself devoid of any sort human empathy.

I fully expect to get banned for this and probably deserve it but in all honesty you are a fucking animal Mulu.
