The Shawshank Redemption philosophy - for ALFAns

Post by indio »

Get busy livin', or get busy dyin'.

- Don't make a post, make an NPC
- Don't state an opinion, write a plot
- Don't air dirty laundry, squish bugs
- Don't poke fun at someone, design armor
- Don't read the forums, hit the toolset

Please add your own.

Remember why we're here. I'm not done with ALFA by a long shot, and we need a dose of fundamentals if we're to push through this current malaise.

I approve. I consider it the Elvis philosophy though.

"A little less conversation, a little more action.
All this aggravation ain't satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark"

*Puts on his blue suede shoes and white-sequined jump suit*
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

And remember, there's no way out except through a pipe full of you-know-what! (I should point out I've not seen the film and I think that's what happens :) )

Sure, here is what I have to add. These are some screenshots of the stuff I just finished making for Baldurs Gate.

An open air temple to Lathander inside BG city.

Also the exterior for the temple to umberlee.

up close on the umberlant fountains.

inside the sanctuary of the temple, yes i mean for it to be that dark.

And right up close to her majesty.

I made a temple to umberlee for the moonsea too but forgot to take screenshots of it before sending it off.

Ill add more when i finish the chapel of Auril and another temple to Gond im also working on. Hopefully a few other builders will join me here and show some of what they are building for ALFA.

"I got yer goddamn shawshank right here!"

I wish I could tell you that Indio fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but ALFA is no fairy-tale world. He never said who did it, but we all knew.

Here here!
“In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.” - Open Message to the Executive Branch.

I am sorely tempted to quote about 3/4 of the movies script right now.

Don't plot for the big win, create an outline for a static quest.
