Anyone from Atlanta Area? Or into Death Metal?

Post by Lusipher »

Reason I ask I just found out my best friend in high school actually is still alive and has been in a number of death metal bands in Atlanta since leaving IL. He was a guitarist for Ghost Story, Atheist, and Gnostic. Anyone know anything about his bands? Were they any good? ( )

Btw, if you do know him his name is Chris Baker. He and I use to get into so much trouble back in the day. He was always a kick ass guitarist and I owe that bastard a ton for making me almost deaf from all the gigs and rehersals I went too. (wut?)

Just curious if anyone knows the bands or Chris that lives in that area or around the world. I guess they (atheist) was pretty big over in Europe.

Danubus, talking about avoiding vices in a different thread wrote:You just have to be strong minded and not associate yourself around those that do them.
You do realize that a Death Metal band member is almost certainly into heavy drinking, drugs, and lots of sex outside the bonds of marriage, don't you?

:P

Not really a flame, but you just made it so easy...couldn't resist. Sorry ;)

Sorry, dano but that line of thought screamed Burt... so who is this person who actually wrote the topic?

actually i know someone who lives in the region... but he's into speed Banjo / Blue Grass Hip-hop... and the Duke. But that's not what you asked, is it?

Atheist is fairly big. Good Band, though I'm not a huge fan. Gnostic is sort of brutal death metal if I'm thinking of the right band, and, if so, very good. Ghost story is less familiar to me.

People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

I just found out about them the other day when I found my friend on Myspace. He was looking for folks from our high school on our high school webpage. Hes a great guitarist! I have never been a big fan of death metal type stuff, but I know how quick Chris is with his coords so Im sure he has no trouble playing it at all. If you want to find out more about them check out my Myspace page I put his current band in my top 40.
