Thanks for posting that. T'was amazing.
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.~~Groucho Marx

Yes, very cool.

I'm fortunate enough to have a collection of letters-home written by a great-x-uncle of mine who served in the Pennsylvania Volunteers. An amazing and personal glimpse into such significant history.

Nice find. Hard years to be an American for those that endured it.

Sorry four minutes is too long. Please distill major events to under 30 seconds, kthx.

That was nice.

How many had ancestors in the CW?

My GGGrandfather went from Corporal to Lt in the 5th Iowa Cavalry from Fort Donnelson to Gettysburg under Grant.

My wife's GGrandfather was in the 2nd New York Veterans Cavalry and went from Trooper to Sergeant and fought in the Penninsular Campaign under Meade.

<--- 20-25 ancestors in the CSA forces. Yep. My family is from the south. I bet none of you would have ever guessed.
