A Land Far Away

OOC: A placed encounter that will last until server reset - a mini adventure for a group of approx level 6. (+/- a couple of levels should be ok)

Warning - The dead are rising again!

An ore caravan heading down the Caravan road towards Waterdeep has been attacked. The lone surviving caravan guard described a giant skeleton as tall as a house attacking along with several smaller zombie like creatures. The Troll Gate Trading Company offers whatever ore and precious metals that caravan was carrying as reward to any who would clear this vital trade route of this menace.

Caution is advised, the trading company accepts no responsibility for any deaths that may or may not occur due to this notice.

OOC Note: If you're heading to the mines and find the scene on the way it should be obvious its related to this please act appropriately.

Edit - On finding the obvious location, a DC 12 or better search check shows lots of tracks heading south.

Last OOC Note: Feel free to use this thread to show interest/organised OOC if needed. Also if completed or a group intends to go it might be nice to post so someone doesn't get all ready and then finds it completed.

Bearclaw would join this hunt. He is in need of some ore.

Bearclaw, Wren Bluefeather, Madog Millhouse, Jed Ironwing and Ivar Farranson all went and cleared out the small hunting party of hobgoblins (probably five of them), the hoard of undead (including the giant skeleton) and two bandits of unknown origin. No ore or ingots were recovered, as nothing was found.

It’s done

Strangely, the large body of undead, hobgoblins and bandits was found next to a sailing vessel that (was either docked or run aground).

Thinking like a pirate, MD (with Wren) returns to the ship and searches it thoroughly. Under a false floor in the captain’s quarters, the two find the missing ore and ingots in a chest. All is taken back to the Guild to be split with the others later.
