That elimination of the spot penalty at night is actually a function of Darkvision. It carries over into Ultravision as well.

Does not automatically nullify stealth as the spell description states. May give a bonus to spot/listen checks but that's speculative.

Remove Curse - restores items cursed in Shadowdeep. You must cast the spell on the character and all items equipped by that character will have their curses removed. The spell will cost the caster 100xp unless he has a diamond.
