My apologies for Kalo

Sorry about him for ruining the night , but he did his job. And, he died alone while his party was running the other way.

He was downing "speed potions" like a madman, trying to cut through the scaled creatures. He didn't hear the "FALL BACK" call when the abomination was retreating and "badly wounded", he attacks. Because that's his job, to run around with a whirling blade and cause chaos.

I guess his "speed potion" tactic got him way too ahead of the group because by that time he's alone, the abomination near death, and a lizard minion close by. Minion lizard got a critical hit, and it was over.

That's what happens when you are alone.

Battles are the one point where I sometimes wish we did use voice

Speed is useful but has its drawbacks when only 1 or 2 in the party is using them

Retreat/ Fallback was called several times as we did a forward / then back pushes at them

While Kalo was seeing the tantilzingly wounded abomination the rest of us were seeing the other stealthed crocs and lizard men closing in to spring their flanking maneuvers which got half of use killed last time we tried this

Now we are all very sad that our tactics got Kalo killed and realizing that battle stategy was not discussed prior to THIS maneuver :squee:

I think we got in too big of a hurry to . . . find the lizards . . . after we got distracted by the Dweomervore :wall:

Speed is a hell of a drug.

No worries at all, I think it was an important lesson that brawn isn't always a match for tactics. I'm sure Myrmith would have a few things to say about it. ;)

I think it will also play well into the plot and I'll fold it in to things.

As for the ceremony, as Zy finished playing Kalo slowly came to and stood up, seemingly from the dead!

At the time , it felt like he had no choice. It was too infuriating for him to just stand ground at the front while we are all getting pelted by various arrows and blindness, and whatever else. Tough spot, he almost pulled it off though with a speed potion. Would have worked if one of the clerics hasted up with him... I think.

Anyway, not sure of his direction now...

Our warrior bunch have been lone rangers on the whole a lot of the time, even in bigger battles. I do think exploring how Wayfarer, Arryn, and Kalo could combine their talents is worth thinking about. Even Arryn is starting to think it’s a good idea, and that’s something.

An option for Kalo might be to take the strategic lead in fighting. Maybe take on Tempus as a secondary patron and figure out what went wrong and take it as his personal mission to fix it? That’s my 2 coppers.

The dwemeorovore (or whatever) exposed how disorganized we were last night and was justifiably frustrating for those who were just standing and waiting. Well done DM, well done... *slow clap*.

Anyway, seems like Kalo caught up this week on what the others went through last Friday! Now we’ve all learned the OMG NO CHARGING AHEAD EVAR EVAR EVAR lesson. Right????????

Well, I guess I owe an apology too since Murgen would have probably helped at least in providing intel on what was ahead of the group.

However, I, and thus Murgen, was completely unnerved by having really nice things pilfered twice by invisible foes. Under those circumstances, I and thus Murgen, felt that it would be foolish to continue to expose himself to this unstoppable thievery. Murgen is definitely unused to not being able to see things. He is the one that goes about *unseen! 8)

*He demands an apology from the Dwemodouchebag.

You know how in dungeons you scout, then use archers to draw in the baddies and destroy them?

Yeah. My monsters do that to.

Nah, it's why there's no real point bothering with tactics. As we learned in the Blue Alley, Ayergo's going to off people no matter how well you do. :wtg:

This is why I like artillery.

Almost all battles are won in detail. See the Battle of Tannenberg for an extreme example.
