Wish List

Post by oldgrayrogue »

Are there any items available on the server that provide for buffs and/or healing x times per day other than wands?

For example, in NWN2, you could find the following items for sale:

Ring that casts Lesser Vigor 3x a day

Ring or other item that casts CLW between 2-5 times per day

Items that can cast buffs like Bless/Aid/ Protection From Evil/ Shield/ Barkskin etc x times per day.

Without such items, casters, especially divine casters are really OP and have a much easier time of it. Maybe it has been more noticeable to me playing a monk, but if such items were available the game would be much more balanced IMO.

NWN1 was a harsher environment at the time such thing were considered too OP allowing too many people to SOLO which was an absolutely frowned upon activity in ALFA1 there is no -6 death floor either . . . .

There are items but they have all been DM given so far

The old loot standards were insane. The armor I have now would have gotten Ayergo in deep shit twelve years ago.

I got myself in trouble for giving an established rp'er who'd built a small guild a morningstar +1 with one (count 'em) one acid damage.

I'm glad people aren't so tight-assed about loot anymore.

I have investigated myself thoroughly and found that I am innocent of all charges.

That's proposterous! Toliv does not have nearly enough lewt yet. He's not wearing any boots, belt, gloves or magical helms! A mere +1 Sheild he had to BUY HIMSELF! Insulting.

For shame! he's barely clothed.

If I recollect correctly, the FRCS literally defines "Adventurers" as persons expected to be equipped with various and sundry magical items. The entire design of the various classes in DnD assumes that abilities and capabilities will be augmented by magic, and/ or magical items. As far as the monk class, which I happen to be playing now, at lower levels they can't survive without magical assistance, period.

I'm glad the environment has opened up from what it used to be in NWN1. More please.

He's a cleric. By definition he doesn't need any magical items. Plus, to use them would be an insult to his deity.

We should set up a time to play a bit one on one to get your new toon sorted... though I'm kinda scared to give you loot after giving you the axe and having you die the next day. :(

Too late. Rune's dead too. And NOT solo, basically for the reasons cited.

I'm done with dwarves and Monks I think.

What would you say about an NPC who could cast these buffs on you in exchange for gold?

We're sort of like the little backwaterdeep of ALFA. No one pays us any mind, so we just play and have fun. Though I suspect there are isn't anyone else except NWN1 and a couple playing both NWN1/2.

Bummer.
Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.
