4.0 Launched!

Post by ayergo »

:party1: :music1: :party3:

4.0 is upon us! We will be launching shortly, and as such I've updated the haks download in the sticky above. This should fix a lot of the issues we've had with weird missing items, bad tilesets that make you get stuck, and other weird problems. There's also a ton of added content, including (but not limited to)

-New level of the Dungeon of the Crypt! Bring a rogue and be cautious, this one might be tricky. Oh, you should be able to bribe your way in with the guards now at night.

-Randomized trap locations and DCs! Of course this is in a new dungeon as well, the famed Blue Alley in the Sea ward. Some dangerous critters lurk there, but they may not be able to spot you if you're sneaky... This needs lots of testing still.

-Homes or rennovations for a few people! The trading company is looking better than ever, and there are a few other surprises for folks.

-The Warrens are in! Can you find one of the entrances? It might be easier if you're smaller in stature. Not a ton in there yet but there is special gear for small folks...

Scroll crafting via Scribe Scroll! Yup, you can use blank spell scrolls to craft your own magic scrolls! Currently it is the standard NWN implementation, but it might change in the future.

Craft healing potions! If you have the right ingredients you can make your own damn potions! Screw that Friarry guy and his high prices!

Half-Fiend head reward at the Snookery I didn't forget about my fighters! The snookery offers a great reward for Half-Fiend heads now, just like the goblin elite ones. Myrmith has promised an item from his personal stash for whatever student can get the most.

Custom items. Was thinking of you all while working and have a few items in mind for my players. Awwww *the items instantly kill you...

There's bound to be some bugs in all of this, so please be patient with me. Hopefully all the fixed bugs make up for it!

To celebrate this I am DMing all weekend long!

GAME ON!
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Whaaaaat?

Are there any in-game clues that said small folk can hunt down, or do we have to search every bleeding nook and cranny in Waterdeep?
Current PC: Alora Tuffet-Hopper, foul-mouthed and irreverent bard and Meat, dwarven cleric who likes to punch himself in the face.

Daggerford is also updated with 4.0 haks, and everything seems to be working, lot of walk mesh and area bugs fixed. I am also adding new content redesigning the Way Inn with numerous quests and putting in an updated version of Keep on the Borderlands near the Way Inn.Still working on the areas and quests, but the updated Daggerford mod should be up tomorrow if Storm ringer is around.

I believe I already know where one is, but the grate was locked. Possibly because the area wasn't in game yet?

Rick, are these statics suitable for squishier/low level characters?

I only know of one entrance. It’s a tunnel, accessible by a hole in the ground. (accessible by those small enough to fit through)

Yep, they will be designed for level 1 and above. There will be sufficient to do for low levels and it will be graduated to higher levels. The Daggerford town static quests with the Daggerford militia are designed for level 1. There are a few others in town, delivery stuff, etc. There is a wanted list in the Constabulary office, but they are for slightly higher levels. At the Way Inn there will be a number of delivery statics, pelt/fur collecting, and for the Keep on the Borderlands Caves of Chaos, like the module, the caves go from easy to tough. The easier caves will be closer to the valley entrance and the harder ones deeper. There are also high level dungeons that I need to review, like Dragon Spear, which has, you know, a dragon Spear, but not sure why :O

Edit: I should mention these are under construction, so in the next couple of weeks they should ready, and also for EE!
