The Darkest Dungeon (A.K.A. Lower Sewers)

Post by Magile »

The three goblin gatekeepers have fallen to the hands of rat-exterminators and goblin-slayers. Of course, there is still something that lurks even deeper within the shadows - a goblin king? A goblin warlord? No one seems to know!

Dav, curious to see where all of this madness is leading to, wishes to explore and test the limits of how deep into the sewers a crew can go. The goal is to find the Lower Sewers, but not to invade it (this is because, OOC, Ayergo has pointed out that it hasn't been completed yet). To accomplish this goal, Dav would like to go spelunking with a group of foolhardy yet tough "adventurers" on a mission to go for as long as they can, hopefully unearthing the mysterious of the so-called "Lower Sewers".

This would be something to do without DM supervision (though if a DM ad hocs, so be it). It is a non-Friday gathering that will not work with 10+ PCs, and the reward will be nothing more than survival, whatever drops and finding the fabled Lower Sewers. If any folks are interested, I'd like to coordinate a group to do this with - ideally, we'd have a Sneak/Scout, some walls of metal, some means of healing and something else. I'd truly wish to take no more than seven individuals down (including myself), so that things are not crammed, leadership is not hampered and we aren't worried about the newer folk being one-shot by a lucky critical hit.

If you're interested, reply to this thread. If you are not interested, please don't clutter this thread. This is a no-politics adventure to see what a group of folk putting their metal and minds together can accomplish on an off-night.

edit: And if it wasn't obvious, this is an OOC thread.

I can't commit to a set time, but if i'm on, and your going Toliv might be convinced to go sure thing, and he fits all your roles, so pick one for him you want or need most, tank, healer or ranged. He's always a healer anyway.

I am certain Kalo would be interested in such a challenge. Although, he would likely not descend below the city without protection wards ; he's usually firm on that.

Yes, interested

I am interested of course. Shey is always game for sewer exploration.

Ok that is a lie. let me rephrase - Shey is always game for sewer exploration so long as she thinks the crew she is with can/will survive the journey. So anyway, yeah, love to play. I am free tonight (Saturday), then free again on Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun next weekend.

Alright, thanks for following protocol. This weekend is bum for a handful of us, so that's a no-go.

Most likely looking to set this up next week. Wednesday or later looks to be the better day since we have more available.

I'm not too knowledgeable on everyone's time zones. I'd prefer to start it earlier than our Friday/Saturday session (which begins around 8pm EST, but doesn't seem to kick off until 9pm EST). If folks would be comfortable with 6pm EST or an hour later to permit supper, and allow any folks on the other side of the world to wake up, I think we might be able to maximize everyone being around and online for it.

Our roster has a good range so far:

Fighty: Kree, Kalo, Davion, Dahvet, Jackman
Scout/Stealth: Shein'n (Thurs/Sat/Sun), Twilight
Divine: Clarence (Time Pending), Toliv (Online Pending)

That's a strong group of nine interested, with some folks who may not be able to make it, allowing for us to lose a few without being hurt and putting us in the more recommended/ideal range of group-size (I honestly feel like seven is the magic number, but that's me). We also have one or two non-Divine Casters able to use CLW Wands, so if we CAN'T have a Divine Caster (which means we lose Kalo as well), we still have healing outside of potions.

Good. Things are shaping up. Once I get an idea on what works best for Rumple's timezone (since Galadorn will be if I catch him in-game or not, I know it's hard to schedule for him), seeing if we can realistically work with someone's timezone is good.

Yeah, don't count on me over the next week. I have a project I need to finish.

Even then don't count on me. I'm highly unreliable.

Thursday/Friday (Friday for those in NZ, Aussieland, etc) seems to be the best day to line this up. Again, if we can start around 6/7pm, it'd be ideal, since I know some folks have to head out earlier than normal.

Reason I'm quoting Rumple is because he confirmed it would most likely work out on Discord.

I can play about 7:00 pm mountain standard time on Thursday. That sounds later than you want to start. Lemme know if you slip the start time.

((The following is placed on the Safehaven Inn, as well as anywhere the Daily Trumpet posts their news))

Oi Rat-catchers, Goblin-killers & Venture-getters!

You ever have a look-see into the sewers of Waterdeep and wonder, amidst the shite and grime, "Just where are these buggers coming from?"

I do - and I hate being down there to begin with!

I'm looking for eyes to find the depths. I'm looking for ears to hear out the enemy and allies. I'm looking for fingers to undo what's done. I'm looking for bodies to throw around. If you've got at least four seasons of expertise under your belt, you may just qualify for what I needWE need to figure out these mysteries!

Got your attention? Gud! This is what I'm looking for:

Eyes: Need someone to keep ahead and watch out for the crew.
Ears: Need everyone to listen to orders and to listen for trouble.
Fingers: Need someone to know the knicks, knacks and paddy-whacks of traps, trips, kits, locks and the whole caboodle.
Bodies: Need everyone to throw their weight into this mission - and for you bigger buggers, that's literal.

You want to be the first to discover the lower depths of the unseen sewers, so we can really bring it home to the goblin buggers that have been a pain in my OUR hide for so long? Then meet at the Safehaven Inn some days past and we'll get to it!

Signed,

Davion "Dav" Bristlholmes

((Thursday, September 14th at 7pm EST is the cast-off time. If we need more people, we'll wait. Be on early for RP))
