Session planning - Rescue of Ponlin and Marisha
Alright, so Clarence has an addition to the plan of "return and kick in the slave pens door".
He says that he can smuggle weapons, armor, food, and healing to Marisha and Ponlin via the pipes. He is also pretty sure that between himself and Marisha, they can get the cell door open with either lock picks or spells. With the cell door open, they can also join the battle (joining the fray when the main attack force blows a war horn (or other signal)).
This allows either...
The smaller group to push through the gobbos during the confusion and get behind the main party in case they all need to fall back...
or
The smaller group to attack from another flank, adding more fresh and friendly combatants to the battle (Ponlin is a tough little nugget, and Marisha brings bard buffs). Gobbos get caught between the anvil and hammer.
He has put together a couple of packs with supplies for the captives. (Light) Armor, (wooden and metal) weapons, healing potions, food and water (and booze for Ponlin). If anyone has anything (non bulky) they want to also get to the captives (potions of invis perhaps?) - Clarence can also make that happen.
Throwing the plan idea out there for consumption, so it doesn't have to be repeated 5 times next session when people log in and join the group.

Might also be a good chance for smaller party to go after vulnerable casters placed behind the main gobbo force? (if any)

Oh, and Clarence has a wand of cure light wounds (10 charges) to pass on to the other group if there is someone who can use it and doesn't have one already. Not usable by bards currently - but is usable by clerics, druids, palandins, or rangers.

Toliv has a new Wand of CLW, that if you want Clarence, can bring with him to give to Marisha or Ponlin?
Or if you think it should go to someone else in the "main force", that's fine with me. I cannot waste a single turn of Toliv's on C-LIGHT-wounds... he's more effective summoning giant spiders, casting Hold Persons on leaders/casters, curing with c-SERIOUS-wounds, and even attacking with Bow or Sword (he has a high AC also). So someone else can use that wand, and use it up for all he cares... just keep EVERYONE topped up and/or alive as long as we can.

Clarences has a fresh crowd funded wand of clw (thanks to the pcs who chipped in at the end of the last session), so we should be good for healing on strike force "Jail birds". But would be good to have more wands in more hands if something goes wrong which is why the mostly used wand is being offered up.

-I like the horns of the bull assault. That could work very well to get at those casters that lurk in the back; if the boss is with them you might have to wait till the main group gets close before jumping out.
-If/when there are rust monsters the monk/rogue/rangers can sneak ahead(if possible) and try to ambush those nightmares of the clerics and fighters.
If anyone has input; please voice it here so we can save precious IG time.

Toliv will be casting his best summons right next to Rust Monsters as soon as he can, following up with Bow shots to casters, and moving as close to casters as possible to hit leader(s) with Hold Person(s) and hoping to shut them down for as long as possible until main DPS-ers can burn them down - always with intentions to burn all rust monsters first.
By that time, I think some people will be needing mid-fight mop up/saving... so Toliv might have to start saving lives - hopefully not yet - But, will keep his top summons up at all times, popping them as close to Rust Monsters and Leaders as possible as long as they last (he will have many, probably 4 dire spiders, 1 or 2 dire wolves, and 2 or 3 dire boars).
If there are Undead, Toliv will be firing off Turn Undead as well if they close in, or if he can get close to them. But that all depends of course if something else would be better used in its place.
When the prayers and blessings are gone, Toliv will charge in with sword and shield.... if he cannot reach casters/leaders, he'll keep shooting with bow, or try to beat down minions to clear the path to heal comrades or engage leaders.

Aius'tha will be there. People who have fought with her ((all but Clarence, I believe)) will know that she is both a keen-eye with a bow and also a brute up close; however, she is by no means a walking mammoth in armour - she gets hit just as hard as she hits. She will do whatever she is asked to, but people have already spoken up in-game that it may be a bit traumatic for her, so take that into considerations for what part you would have her play.

If people can try to find protective potions/ scrolls too.
Tragnar and Toliv can do some buffs, but if they both spend their allotment up-front that will leave less healing on the fly.
Elemental protection, protection from evil, magic weapon, barkskin could be appropriate for every PC as prophylaxis.
Bring a back-up weapon.
