Information To Be Shared

This thread will serve as a place for players to post IC information that has been learned that would be shared with other PCs. This is to allow for pieces of the story puzzle to be shared among players involved so that game time need not be taken up every session with catching everyone up. That is not to say that things cannot be shared IC, but hopefully this will encourage the sharing of related info that will allow us all to work together.

Zyxa is concerned with the number of infants that have been recovered lately in the sewers. She is hoping to find out who is responsible, not only for losing all of these children, but also for encouraging the goblins to take them on.

She spoke with Kiber at Helm's Hall regarding where these children were coming from. She learned that some have been willfully abandoned, but others are being abducted outright. He indicated that he learned this from a few women who have come to him asking if their children had been recovered.

Zyxa inquired about the last woman to do so. She was hoping to gather some insight into how the children are being abducted. The last woman was a human redhead who gave the name Sandra. She had been staying briefly at the Safehaven. Questioning the barkeep at that establishment revealed that Sandra was none other than Sandra Tesper. It is unknown whether or not Lady Tesper has any children or not. She is rumored to be so absent-minded that she would lose her own head were it not attached.

Investigating Lady Tesper is a path forward.

Additionally, everyone likely knows that the Thayans are offering coin for infants found in the sewers. It should be noted that this is only recently a development, unlike Helm's Hall, which has been taking in such children for many years. Obviously the concern is that the Thayans are merely procuring more merchandise for their slavery enterprises.

Marisha holds HALF a manuscript for a play that is suppose to be enacted at a party that Lady Tesper is having sometime in the next month or so. This Half was held by the script writer named Lawrence, a nervous sort of playwright. His partner, Donalson, was Killed a week or so ago by, if Lawrence is to be believed, men of the local watch patrol, and his half of the manuscript stolen. Lawrence wants many of us to serve as actors and stage hands for the play. He is willing to pay us for this as well, he says . . . Though before that can happen it needs the other half rewritten to be of any use. In my spare time I am Helping him with that as best I can.
On top of all that we have found that the pages contain some sort of magical overlay that randomly causes an Imp to appear and attack us. We plan on taking this manuscript to the Watchful Order, Though I am sure Lawrence would be aghast if he knew what we were doing with it, to see if we can find out what is embedded in the pages that is causing these Imps to appear.

Clarence reports the following...

On rats

*The rats in the rat hills are controlled by were-rats.
*The rats/were-rats are contesting land within the rats hills against the goblins, but are slowly losing the battle, and been driven into the city.
*Clarence is in negotiations with the were-rats now to keep the sick and ash rats out of the city - Do not interfere with this (says Clarence)
*Clarence is also ensuring the health of the cat population in areas adjacent to the rat hills

On goblins

*Goblins have been stealing dogs from the streets. Probably both for food and for training.
*Clarence seeks the head of a goblin warrior... not for the snookery
*Clarence theorizes that there is a link between the sewers and the rat hills... and he would be very keen on collapsing or blockading it to stop free goblin movement

On harbor bodies

*There has been a spate of dead children and a few adults found floating in the harbor. The adults were very decomposed.

Jackman, on his 5th ale at the Safehaven, would relay:

While he and Clarence were enjoying a beer at the Safehaven, an agitated Thayan arrived, ordered a beer, and started insulting its quality. The Thayan was upset because he had a ship in port and the authorities had forbid its cargo from being offloaded. The Thayan offered a ridiculous amount of coin to effect its release, which sparked Jackman's and Clarence's interest.

Tragnar joined the two who headed for a dockside tavern. Sailors and stevedores at the Thirsty Sailor did not know the cargo's content.

At the docks, Magister Bazaila was the port authority overseeing the ship. He explained the captain did not notify the shipment and affix the proper seals. He quietly asked Jackman to discover the identity of the cargo. But Tragnar believes the Magister is lying.

After visiting both the Watchful Order and the Bardic College we have learned that the play has some sort of Bardic magic overlaying some arcane to keep it in check. But due to the nature and the fact that half is missing it sometimes spills over and an Imp appears. We seem to have no recourse but to either find the other half or to destroy this portion. However, Marisha did find that singing to the script seemed to calm and stablize the thing to some extent. On the way to the college we took a short cut through the Melody MOunt walk and were waylaid by thugs wanting the script. Unfortunately we were unable to keep one alive to question about why they wanted it or who hired them. Clarence had a dog who was able to track them back to the Thayan Enclave.

At this point and after some discussion about Gobins and Rats vs Thayans and missing children, it was decided to check on the impounded boat.
Some of us distracted the Magistar while Jack snuck on board the ship

Jack swam in the harbor and climbed aboard the impounded Thayan ship while the others distracted the Magister and guards. He lowered himself into the cargo hold. Within were 25 boxes, all sealed with sacks. From no where a grouse dropped in and came over to one box and started pecking at it. Jackman decided to cut open the seal only to find the box locked. He attempted to break the lock with the dagger he brought but failed. He grabbed the bird and departed when he heard guards approaching. Back at the Safehaven, Clarence relayed the bird had picked up the scent of dead fish and meat in the box.

As reported by Stronn, still recovering from his wounds: "So we found us a nasty gobby stronghold in the sewers. It was behind a magic warded steel door, 'bout 2 blocks north west of the Virgin Court sewer cover. I am still dizzy from my head bashin' but don't worry I'm drinkin my brandy and takin them pills the apothecar gave me, wooo eeee, feels like I'm a flyin!. Perchance someone remembers the location better. Don't remember much, my shield was smashed to bits and my new chain shredded. They was some tough, undead and goblins is all I can recall, lots and lots. You'll know cause nearby is gobby guard dogs, never seen them before. Sadly one o the dwarfs didn't make it out. Just met him, too. Dats the way it happens, snuffed out like a candle light."

Back at the Safehaven, Clarence relayed the bird had picked up the scent of dead fish and meat in the box.

It's just shy of middle night as Tragnar rushes in to the Safehaven Inn. He is animated and kinetic as waves a filthy piece of parchment over his head..


"He be alive! Me cousin Ponlin Alesinger be alive! The goblins gots 'im but... Look here!" *waves the parchment again*

"I was in the hills killin' fer bounty an' I smash this one smaller rat. I look down an see this small bone tube tied of to its back. I figger that be the strangest hap'nin' I seen in a while so I cut the cord off an' take me a look.

Turns out there be this paper rolled up in it..." *reads aloud*

Help! Greenskin arseholes got me in the sewers. Bhind a door which be secret an' hidden... but I here. ~PA

Clarence passes on the following...

The goblins are led by a "king" who lives with a "goblin dragon god", and has 3 underlings who serve him. The underlings have their own areas of dominion in the sewers.

*The slave master who keeps captured slaves and animals
*The priest who has a force of fallen (undead) adventurers
*The warlock who has a force of other-worldy imp type things

...and were-rats have likely been breeding with loose/easy/stupid city women. Effects may well be felt starting 7ish months from now. Clarence would really like to hear from anyone with knowledge of mid-wifery or lycanthropy.
