Mage Guild Seeks Spell Components

With the recent goblin troubles, the mage guild of Waterdeep has been unable to get the necessary spell components for their operations. As such they have stopped subcontracting to the plumbers guild and now are offering direct awards to members of the guild and increased the amount of pay. Additionally, in effort to expand their ranks they have now offered membership to the local bard community. Rust monster antennae are especially sought after!

So, Plumbers guild no longer pays for weird stuff, only ears? But Mage's guild pays more if you are one of 4 classes (and don't mind turning Good)?

Yup, only ears. Mage guild does pay more but does not give good points, as Mick said.

Nice, well, since I have the privilege of one of those 4, I'll visit them should I live through another dive. Do we have any IC PoC for the Thieves' guild?

Several other PCs know, publically there is no thieves guild.

Mage's guild appears to have no dialog option for more work (already turned in death cheese). Spider glands & beetle shell are not taken for GP. Is there a 3rd NPC I missed?

Are you a member of the guild? Did Badger take a level of wiz/sorc/bard?

No - you told me this was available to all above .... err, not all, but the 4 melee classes (plus assumably the prior mage classes). I'm guessing it's mage only then - so.... Plumbers is ears only now or ....?

Ah, miscommunication then. To clarify:
Plumber's guild: Buys only ears, now does them all at once instead of one at a time as before. Works for all characters.
Mage's guild: Buys sewers spell components. Must be Wiz/Sorc/Bard
I'm considering opening all static options to those with ranks in persuade, but as yet our only PC who has done that is also a bard so they can cross into other groups anyway.
If folks would be interested in spending points in persuade to be able to join groups that normally won't allow them we can figure something out.

Not a big deal, but just a comment.
It seems like a weird construct for a static. I can understand only selling to casters.
But only buying components from arcanists is kind of like Toyota deciding that it will only source its steel from current Formula One drivers.

A fair point, to which I'd say perhaps they'll only buy from people with proper arcane training. Its closer to a mushroom vendor only buying from people who know what they're doing, because some random schmuck could get people killed. Will consider adding a spellcraft skill check to it as well.

And maybe outside the many bars, a drunken fool got his nose broken randomly, and lies in a ditch nearby, and Clerics who come across them, can cure them, and maybe the drunken cured fool gives the Cleric some gold?
