Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
Anyone interested in scoping out the building (or some other clever way of gaining intel) is given the presumed address of the goblin boss lair/dog shelter from Clarence with a warning to be careful. The building is in 2J.

Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
So we now know that the gobbos are in league with the Thayans, and can place them in the same building.
What do we do with this info?
If we can discredit the Thayans and get proof of this duplicity before the city, we will get a lot more mileage (and recognition) than just slaughtering everything that moves inside the house.
Does anyone have links with the city? (*cough* Toliv)
Does anyone have links to enemies of the Thayans or Xanathar they might be able to leverage for aid? (even if it is in secret without the rest of us knowing)
Does anyone have a plan of attack? Through the front door while sealing off the sewers (it could be done), In through the sewers and let the Thayans flee out the front door?, a 2 pronged attack? (better if one of the prongs were npc's)

Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
PS - In house Clarence saw... several goblins, 4 Thayans (2 guards, 1 dog trainer, 1 wiz). 1 King. He heard what was probably a training room for goblins (lightly clashing steel on steel). The house is large, with long corridors.

Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
Keryn discussed the following plan with Clarence. Cause a distraction at the front door, while attacking through the sewers, which is the most direct path to the King (this assumes the King is the primary target and the Thayans are secondary). The distraction at the front door could consist of city guard that have been tipped off as to something illicit going on in the house. Even if the guard sided with the Thayans, once they saw the goblins their cover would be blown, thus providing a distraction, second front during the fight and proof, assuming some of the patrol survives.
A complicating factor is a building that has city guards posted secretly next door. It's not known why they are posted there, but they could be in the pocket of the Thayans, thus pulling in a random patrol of the street seems best. Assuming success, a worst-case scenario would be that they were staking the headquarters out in hopes of catching larger fish. Any insight into what the city knows and what they're doing there would be very useful to avoid getting into hot water with the guard.

Currently laying the smackdown on Faerun as: Keryn Tel'Jora, who is XXX-TREME!!!.
Currently explaining the meaninglessness of it all as Vizian Nazyr.
Currently pointing out all other characters' shortcomings as Stephen the Archer.

Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
Probably would be good to get to know one of those guards posted next door. Follow him to his favorite tavern while off shift or while running an errand. Could probably get a sense as to their status.Senor T wrote:

Hell, maybe we'll get lucky and discover that the city has a secret investigative unit dedicated to spying on the Thayans and we can rely on their help. (Not holding my breath though).

Another thought ... figure out a way to infiltrate that guard house and ... if they adjoin directly with a common wall.... blast right though the wall and take them totally by surprise in their nightclothes.

Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
The building is stand-alone. However! Could go in through the kennel entrance (which is self contained) and have a hole made in the adjoining wall. Would save going in through the front door.
Actually aside from the dogs within (which could be calmed), the kennel is not staffed at night.

Twilight and perhaps others could climb up to the second or higher floors, if there are accessible windows. Provided we can get in up there, a diversion or additional prong of attack could be carried out.
Talk less. Listen more.

Could set it on fire .... smoke/ burn 'em out while laying a craptop on traps and caltrops at all the exits. Let it be a nasty painful death and just crush the skulls of the wounded that make it out.Mick wrote:Twilight and perhaps others could climb up to the second or higher floors, if there are accessible windows. Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
Toliv could find out everything (probably) needed to know about those guards, and if he could not find out, that would prove those guards are actually corrupt. Toliv could also certainly set up a "raid" on the house for the diversion and it would not appear he's in league with you lot. Be easier to coordinate if everyone didn't hate his guts though...the shocker to most might come knowing his foothold into the watch was a very beneficial placement for inside information across the city and not entirely chosen as a 'job' per se - lol, since he does not even receive any pay *shrugs*.
Good luck with it!
Good luck with it!

If you want to participate Galadorn, you are more than welcome. A bit unsure since you took a step back a while ago. If you would like to be involved in whatever capacity just say yep and C will find T in game.

Marisha will see if she garner support at the Watchful order . . .or at least find out what the City guard is doing in the vicinity.

Re: The Plan for the Goblin King
T might be around to help -- i've taken a step back mostly because my computer was out for 2 weeks and T was around but not into it for IC reasons as well... but the loss of the computer was 99% of the problem of course..........can't play without one. Might see you in there! But i'm back into Diablo3 now, so good chance gotta get that outta my system too. Good luck if you tackle the Gobbo King!Rumple C wrote:If you want to participate Galadorn, you are more than welcome. A bit unsure since you took a step back a while ago.
